Chapter 9.5: The Bureaucracy of Death

[Section I: Vocabury of the Deep]

Existence Instability: The physical "weight" Zany feels after the fight. By consuming a piece of the Law, Zany’s presence has become denser. In the human world, this manifests as a localized pressure—a "cliff edge" feeling that triggers the primal survival instincts of nearby mortals, even when suppressed.

The Sovereign Skin: A term used by Hades to describe the evolution of the Mediator's vessel. It implies that Zany is no longer just a "referee" between worlds; he is growing into a position of absolute authority—a Sovereign—that the current Law was never designed to contain.

Triangle Bread: A mortal anchor. For Zany, eating is no longer about nutrition; it is a ritual to remind his body and mind that he belongs to the "Living" side of the Overp, despite the gold blood in his veins.

[Section II: Character Encyclopedia — The Management]

Yama [The Dharmaraja / The Judge]: The official adjudicator of the Underworld. While Hades owns the realm, Yama is the one who sits on the bench and manages the "spreadsheets" of fate. He is characterized by a rigid obsession with accountability and cosmic order. He represents the administrative side of the Law—the nagging voice of "The System" that Hades actively avoids.

The Hunters: A high-threat css of entity mentioned by Hades. Unlike the Seraphim (who are auditors/security), Hunters are specifically designed to "collect" souls that the Law can no longer track. They are the God World’s reactive response to a Sovereign-level error.

[Section III: Dimensional Logic — The Fold]

Subconscious Tethering: When a Mediator "folds distance," the destination is often influenced by their deepest physiological craving. Zany’s jump to Naples was a reactive survival mechanism—his power sought the highest concentration of "Life" (heat, noise, toasted yeast) to counteract the "Nothingness" of the Hollows.

Aura Friction: High-ranking Primordials like Hades can manifest in the human yer of the Overp, but they remain "out of sync." Their appearance (like Hades' century-old suit) and their aura (the shivering waiter) prove that the two worlds can share the same space, but they can never truly mix without causing a disturbance in the local reality.

  [Section IV: The Price Update]

Sensory Void (The Rain): Zany has lost the texture of his past. He retains the intellectual knowledge (the fact that rain exists), but the sensory "Was" (the smell, the cool touch) has been deleted to pay for Leo’s new life. This represents the first stage of the Mediator's transition from a human being into a fundamental force of the universe.
