Endless Chaos – Chaos Void Plane: The Path of Story
Chapter 16 – Victory of the Dragon Slayer
The arena trembled with two competing narratives.
Scarlet symbols wrapped tightly around the Wind Warrior, pulling it toward Veyron.
At the same time, currents of wind from Raphael’s Dragon Slayer legend tried to pull it back.
The figure flickered violently between the two stories.
The crowd watched in stunned silence.
A battle between storytellers was always dramatic.
But a struggle for ownership of a story character was rare.
Very rare.
Veyron raised his hand higher.
Scarlet ink poured from his floating book like blood.
“My narrative has more chapters.”
“More structure.”
“More authority.”
The crimson knight roared again.
Four swords lifted toward Raphael.
“You cannot hold that character.”
“It belongs to the stronger story.”
Raphael looked at the wind warrior beside him.
The figure trembled slightly as the scarlet script tightened around it.
Raphael sighed.
“…You know what your mistake is?”
Veyron sneered.
“Oh?”
Raphael pointed at the stands.
“You forgot something.”
Veyron frowned.
“What?”
Raphael raised his voice so the entire arena could hear him.
“Who is the Dragon Slayer?!”

For a moment the crowd was confused.
Then someone shouted.
“YOU!”
Another voice followed.
“The Dragon Slayer!”
Soon dozens of voices echoed.
“The Dragon Slayer wins!”
“The Dragon Slayer defeats the knight!”
The energy of belief surged across the arena.
The glowing script beneath Raphael’s feet erupted with light.
The Dragon Slayer narrative burned brighter than ever.
The wind warrior beside him stabilized instantly.
The scarlet chains shattered.
CRACK!
Veyron’s eyes widened.
“No—!”
Raphael grinned.
“Stories belong to the people who believe them.”
He stepped forward.
Wind exploded around him.
The Wind Warrior dashed forward at the same time.
Two figures moved together.
Hero and disciple.
Legend and continuation.
Veyron shouted.
“Crimson Knight! Destroy them!”
The four-armed knight charged again.
All four swords came crashing down.
Raphael raised his arm.
Wind spiraled violently around him.
“Dragon Severing Strike – Ascending Tempest!”
The wind warrior struck first.
Its sword clashed with the crimson knight’s upper blade.
CLANG!
At the same moment—
Raphael swung his arm.
A massive spiral storm erupted across the arena.
SKKKKKRRRRRRRRRAAAAAASH!!!
The storm slash tore through the crimson knight.
The armor shattered.
The massive figure exploded into fragments of scarlet script.
The shockwave blasted across the arena floor.
Veyron staggered backward.
His floating book snapped shut violently.
The scarlet energy around him collapsed.
The arena voice echoed again.
“Narrative Duel Concluded.”
“Winner: Raphael – Dragon Slayer Narrative.”
The crowd exploded into cheers.
“Unbelievable!”
“A Seed Rank defeated a Path Rank!”
“His story evolved during the duel!”
Lina jumped up and down in the stands.
“He did it!”
Caelum smiled faintly.
“He has officially stepped onto the Path Rank.”
Inside the arena, Raphael exhaled deeply.
“…That was exhausting.”
The wind warrior beside him slowly faded away.
Returning to the legend it came from.
But the Dragon Slayer narrative inside Raphael had changed.
It was stronger now.
More complete.
Above the arena…
Raphael’s name on the Narrative Registry Tower suddenly shifted.
The glowing text changed.
Raphael – Dragon Slayer Path
Rank: Path Narrator
The entire tower flashed briefly.
Announcing the promotion.
Several figures in the arena crowd immediately reacted.
Members of different Story Guilds whispered among themselves.
“That story has potential.”
“A new narrative path…”
“We should recruit him.”
Veyron slowly stood up.
His robes were torn.
His expression furious.
“You got lucky.”
Raphael shrugged.
“Every story needs a good twist.”
But before Veyron could say anything else…
A calm voice echoed across the arena.
“That will be enough.”
Everyone turned toward the balcony above.
Lady Seraphel stepped forward.
Her silver robes glowed with powerful narrative energy.
Even the air around her seemed to obey her story.
The crowd immediately fell silent.
Caelum whispered quietly.
“A Myth Rank Narrator…”
Seraphel’s eyes focused on Raphael.
“You fought well.”
Raphael rubbed the back of his neck.
“Thanks.”
She studied him carefully.
“The Path of Story has chosen an interesting author.”
Then she raised her hand slightly.
A small silver message scroll formed from light.
It floated toward Raphael.
“This invitation comes from the Grand Archive of Aurelis.”
Raphael caught the glowing scroll.
“…What’s this?”
Seraphel answered simply.
“An opportunity.”
“Your story…”
“…may be connected to something far greater.”
Raphael frowned slightly.
“Like what?”
Seraphel looked toward the sky.
Toward the unseen depths beyond the plane.
Her voice became quiet.
“The Chaos Void Sea.”
Raphael’s eyes sharpened.
Because he had heard that name before.
And somehow…
His story was beginning to drift closer to it.
