**Volume 2: Upper World**
**Chapter 109: All the Pain**
**(Arc: Beginning of the End)**
July 4th, 1:14 a.m. – Shinjuku (Ray’s Realm of the Gods – Final Moments)
Mara got cut into five.
Ray’s **Ultimate Slash** came again — one perfect violet line that multiplied mid-air into five — slicing Mara from every angle at once. Shoulder to hip, chest to spine, arms separating, legs buckling — blood sprayed in perfect arcs — body parts hitting the obsidian ground with wet thuds. Mara’s void eye flickered once — faint blue-white — then dimmed. He collapsed in pieces — still breathing shallow — but not moving.
Sky and Max felt it.
Like something inside them snapped.
They were already weak — ribs cracked, blood dripping, auras flickering like dying candles — but seeing Mara fall again — the same smile he’d worn when he died the first time — lit something in both of them. Not hope. Not rage. Just… refusal.

Sky moved first — light blue aura flaring brighter than it had in hours — fist snapping forward. Ray blocked — but Sky kept coming — punch after punch — each one carrying every death Ray had caused. Ren burning alive. Het sliced in half. Abel chopped into chunks. Cam stabbed by his own best friend. Rita heart-stabbed. Frosty cut into four. Kira glass-stabbed and dragged. Mara — twice now.
Every hit landed harder — Ray’s purple aura cracking — arms blocking but bending under the force.
Max joined — shadows surging weak but stubborn — punched Ray’s side — Ray grunted — kicked Max hard — Max flew — slammed into a blood river — water splashing crimson.
Ray turned to Sky — tried the same kick.
Sky ducked — low, smooth — swept Ray’s legs out from under him. Ray fell — mid-air — twisted — kicked Sky’s chest. Sky staggered back — ribs screaming — but didn’t drop.
Ray switched — six arms retracting — back to two — purple energy coiling tighter.
Sky didn’t wait.
He punched again — **Echo Diversity** — will energy surging to 150% — green, blue, red mixing in his fists — each hit different: one crushed bone, one warped space inside Ray’s ribs, one burned will energy. Ray blocked — but Sky kept going — ducked Ray’s counter — kicked Ray’s ribs — crack loud enough to echo across the realm.
Max got up — arm sliced open by a stray slash — blood pouring — but he closed it — shadows wrapping tight — healing slow but holding.
Sky swept Ray’s legs again — Ray fell — Sky jumped — mid-air punch — Ray caught it — twisted Sky’s arm — threw him down.
But the realm cracked wider — purple walls fracturing — obsidian mountains crumbling — blood rivers evaporating.
Ray looked up — eyes narrowing — realized it was breaking.
Sky and Max stood together — breathing ragged — blood dripping — auras flaring one last time.
The chapter ended with Jason pushing up from the rubble across the plaza — dark blue-pink aura steadying — eyes locked on Ray.
To be continued…
