Snape began recounting what he had just witnessed after apparating at the gathering.
First, he described Voldemort. The way his face still looks like a serpent. Snape did not forget to mention that the gathering took place at Lucius's mansion.
At that moment, many of the Order thought that Lucius must have had a hand in bringing Voldemort back.
Then Snape divulged each and every Death Eater that responded to Voldemort's call. Karkaroff was the only one who did not attend, except those in Azkaban.
The very next thing Snape told them was about Voldemort's death thirteen years ago. The way Voldemort was killed at the hands of Harry Potter when Lily Potter sacrificed herself.
Dumbledore noticed the pain in Snape's eyes when he told them about Lily. Snape found himself helpless. In telling the Dark Lord about the prophecy, he had sealed the fate of the one he loved most.
Then Snape recounted the events leading to his reappearance. How Wormtail disguised himself as Mad-Eye Moody and put Harry's name inside the goblet of fire, thus leading him to the graveyard where Voldemort was waiting for him.
Sirius, his hands clenched into fists. Once again, the traitor has caused trouble for them. Rupin was having the same reaction. All he could do was blame himself. During that time when he was a professor at Hogwarts, he caught Wormtail acting as Scabbers, Ron Weasley's rat. He, together with Sirius, was going to kill that backstabber if not for Harry's intervention.
Alas, Remus had forgotten to take his wolfbane potion that day. His transformation into a wolf allowed Wormtail to escape.
Sirius and Remus looked at each other. Without any words spoken, they both understood that the next time they encounter that rat, they will make sure it will be his last day.
Snape continued, telling everyone how Voldemort toyed with the two boys, Harry and Cedric. And came the time for Snape to reveal how Cedric's death occurred. He told them that when Harry escaped the killer curse, the spell hit Cedric's back.
"Voldemort reveled in the chaos he created. He wanted Harry to suffer, to carry the guilt of Cedric Diggory's."
The news hit Molly Weasley particularly hard as she felt her heart break. "Oh, Merlin! That was so cruel."
Snape explained to everyone how Voldemort decided to spare Harry Potter for a little time in order for Harry to feel the weight of Cedric's death.
After that, Severus Snape told everyone how Harry was nowhere to be found when Voldemort came back to kill him. Looking at Albus, Snape said, "Dumbledore, he suspects, that you have a hand in concealing the boy's whereabouts."
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Like that, Snape recalled everything that happened during Voldemort and the Death Eaters' meeting. "Voldemort asked me to check if Dumbledore would show any sign of hiding the boy and ask Yaxely and Macnair to get any information from the Ministry of Magic. Lastly, he asked Macnair and Avery to go recruit the giants."
Finally, Snape reached the end of his narration. There was complete silence in the kitchen as everyone was in their own thoughts.
After what seemed like an eternity, Dumbledore finally spoke. "The situation is indeed grave," he began, his gaze shifting from one member of the Order to another. "Our priority is to locate Harry and ensure his safety. Severus, thank you for your detailed account. Now, we must act swiftly."
Dumbledore turned to Hagrid, his tone firm. "Rubeus, I need you to prepare to meet the giants. I'll send a message to Olympe Maxime to accompany you. We must secure their alliance in these troubled times."
Hagrid, ever loyal to Dumbledore, nodded solemnly, ready to embark on the challenging mission. Dumbledore then addressed Arthur Weasley, "Arthur, I need you to guard the Department of Mysteries. Voldemort will try every way possible to get his hands on the prophecy, and we can't afford to let such a thing happen."
Looking at the rest of the Order of Phoenix, Albus gave the same responsibility to each one of them.
"We will rotate among ourselves to guard the Prophecy. We must do it in such a way that it does not raise suspicion at the Ministry of Magic, more specifically, Cornelius."
At that moment, they each knew that this was the beginning of the Second Wizarding War.
However, Sirius Black, all these missions, or whatever plan was seconding. "This isn't enough!" he erupted, shocking everyone. "We need to focus on Harry now!"
Dumbledore, maintaining his calm demeanor, tried to appease Sirius. "Sirius, I understand your concerns, but we must proceed carefully. Rushing into action without a plan will only put Harry and all of us in more danger. We have already confirmed that Harry is not in the hands of Voldemort."
Sirius, however, interrupted the headmaster of Hogwarts. "This does not mean that Harry is out of danger. Who knows what is going on inside his head right now? I won't sit here and wait. I'm going to find him on my own." He stood up abruptly.
The other members of the Order, including Remus Lupin, Arthur Weasley, and Nymphadora Tonks, attempted to dissuade Sirius. "You can't, Sirius. You're still wanted by the Ministry. You'll be risking your life," Remus implored.
Sirius spoke back, "I don't care about the Ministry or going back to Akzaban. Harry needs me, and I won't abandon him."
With a final, defiant glare at the gathered members of the Order, Sirius Black stormed out of the kitchen. The door slammed shut behind him, leaving the rest.
The other looked at the headmaster.
"We must respect Sirius's emotions, but we also need to consider the best course of action," Dumbledore stated calmly, attempting to maintain a sense of order.
Molly Weasley, her eyes still filled with worry, spoke up. "Albus, what if he gets caught? The Ministry is already targeting him. We can't afford to lose another member."
Arthur Weasley nodded in agreement, voicing the collective concern. "He's impulsive, and we need a plan. We can't risk more lives without a strategy."
Remus Lupin, who had been silent, now spoke up, "Sirius is grieving for Harry, Albus. We all are. Perhaps we should give him some time. Let him cool off, and then we can discuss a more organized search."
Dumbledore nodded, acknowledging the wisdom in Lupin's words. "You're right, Remus. Emotions are running high. Let him find solace, and we'll reconvene later. In the meantime, we'll continue our efforts to locate Harry."
