Through the windows of the luxurious room , Goji sees the ruined city : rubble, corpses, and slowly but continuously from all around the city, she sees red creatures seemingly made of fire move around through the city, the monsters whose corpses she has seen through the streets, all moving seemingly in a procession, taking the corpses of their kind and those of the deceased through hours of movement. They seem to retreat toward the center of the isnd like some type of parade, something she finds a bit worrisome as she has read that there was some extinct volcano around there. But as long as she waits for a bit longer before she can go... well, theoretically, she could go now and continue swimming, but... she looks at the animals that are sleeping beside her, the ones she has befriended, and decides against it . After all, she is strong enough to defend herself and those around her...
The next day , as the sun's rays pierce through the curtains, Goji is hit by the reality of taking care of animals, specifically how all of them are looking at her for food and water . She opens the door to the hallways, and with some gestures and a bit of intimidation, she gets them to go outside to do their necessities at the other end of the hallway . As they move around, she starts looting the floors below in search of any food . It seems the generator of this hotel is running on fumes, as sometimes the lights go out . After a bit of looting, she finally fills her backpack with supplies and some liters of water in a canister. She promptly goes back and lets the animals eat and drink . She starts the TV again and looks through the news, where, much to her interest, the news anchor from st night isn't there . As for the news themselves? Positive, positive, and positive ; they are only singing praises to the military, chanting about their victories in battle against the monsters . Defeat ? Minor at most... just a bunch of propaganda. However, going to the international news is more interesting. There are a bunch of problems in Europe, as the French forces are being overrun by the undead . Some European nations have sent troops and aid, but they have problems too, as a very sad-looking man confirms the death of the queen of the United Kingdom. It seems in London, along with a bunch of other officials ; though some of the royal family has been out of the city , so the royal lineage is not dead . In Asia, some type of fish humanoid monster has been attacking the coasts surrounding the Yellow Sea, so the Chinese and Koreans have that, plus their own gates in their capitals . In Japan, the Tokyo gate has been contained, but so many losses and personnel redirected have led to some isnds at the far ends of the nation being completely lost or devastated, from where monsters continue rampaging through the nation. So, a bunch of bad news throughout the world...
In the afternoon, as she concentrates on studying her dictionary, problems arise in the form of the lights going out . The emergency generator that has made this stay so comfortable has died, and when one problem arises, a bunch of others appear too, this time in the form of fireballs pouring against the city....
-Fucking hell, friends in the bag, now! *Goji quickly takes the smaller animals and puts them in her backpack, grabbing one dog under each arm as she runs out of the room . Hundreds of fireballs come crashing down on the city ; the buildings facing the impact are quickly weakening under the onsught. As Goji runs toward the other side, she can feel the continuous tremors of the building and the increasing light of the fires throughout the city . A big fireball crashes down against the hotel where she is , easily destroying one corner of the upper floors where the stairs are, leaving Goji with no way out as the continuous bombardment sets the city on fire...*
-Okay, okay... friends? Close your eyes and prepare for impact *Goji goes to a room that isn't facing the fireballs, and as she looks down through the window, she really hopes that all these fancy titles are worth something . As she breaks the window with a whip of her tail, she takes some steps back. As the structural integrity of the building comes closer to zero, she takes a deep breath, starts running, and jumps. The feeling of flying only sts for a second as reality comes crashing down with all the force of gravity . She holds the two dogs that are under her arms tightly, and with her backpack already secured before she jumped, the only thing she needs is to nd on her feet. Against her best judgment, she descends quickly , as the fall from a ten-plus floor level isn't as long as she thought. However, all the silly thoughts go silent as her feet hit the ground. For a second, she cannot breathe as the world comes to a stop ; her skin doesn't break, but with the impact and the energy transmitted, her bones shatter , her muscles tear apart, only to be put back in form by her regeneration, which comes with more pain . She doesn't scream, cry, or fall to her knees, even as they are torn apart . As her body begins to function again and the sounds of the fireballs can be heard, she exhales and starts running away from the bst zone. The integrity of the animals is surprisingly good; as she opens her panel , much to her delight, a passive ability from the title branch of Defender of Nature has helped her*
