Dancing on the ceiling pt3

Rissa was shocked at seeing how easily the sin had beaten liun. She didn't even see the thing move and yet somehow it was able to take the boy down in one shot

Then, without warning, the Sin's fingers closed around Rissa's throat.

It happened faster than she had the ability to perceive. One blink she was frozen in shock, the next her feet were lifting off the ground as the thing hoisted her up like she weighed nothing. it's grip was unbreakable, like iron, there was no doubt that this thing was in fact a phase 2

Rissa gasped, hands flying to its wrist in a desperate attempt to break its grip

"you're a real looker y'know. Too bad you're gonna die." The sin said, looking her up and down with a predatory stare. It's voice was layered, like two people were speaking instead of one.

The sin started gripping harder, trying to crush her throat like a soda can. Before it could finish however the girl from down to her blouse picking out her bubble wand and stabbing the thing in the eye with it.

It stumbled back, not from pain but from surprise, and as it stumbled back it's grip loosened, just enough for her to push it off of her.

The red head hit the floor hard, coughing, dragging in air like it was the first breath she'd ever taken. Her hands shook as she scrambled backward, bubble wand clutched tight like a lifeline.

The Sin regenerated it's eye, the eyes of a sin were the only weak points no matter the phase, but that didn't mean much when they could regenerate.

As the eyes of the sin grew back, it glared down at the girl holding the bubble wand in hand, it was rather small and a very vibrant red, with two holes with which to release bubbles.

It looked at the item, really looked at it.

  And then it laughed.

A deep, rumbling sound that vibrated the hallway. "You hit me... with a toy? Is that your weapon? What exactly do you expect to do with that little thing? Blow me away?" It mocked

The girl stood up, putting the bottom of the bubble wand to her mouth before blowing. And blowing. And blowing. Until the wand was twice the size of her.

The holes slowly filled up with some kinda reddish liquid. And then she waved the thing towards the sin. She waved it with so much force that the bubbles came out like bullets, a flood of differently shaped and sized bubbles moved through the hallway like an an actual flood

The bubbles were spinning as they came out, causing them to function more like flying buzzsaws than actual bubbles. They ripped through the hallway, doors, floors, the lights in the ceiling like hot knives through snow.

After that volley, the girl had to take a heavy breath. She took in all the air she physically could as the wand shrunk back to it's original size.

The sin didn't seem too fazed by the attack, as most of the bubbles that flooded the hallway simply bounced off him, not leaving even a tiny scratch.

"Was that it? Was that all you had? We thought that would actually hurt! With this new level of power, we truly are invincible!" the sin mocked the girl as all the bubbles that bounced off it surrounded it almost like a dome of small bubbles.

The girl ignored the sins taunting remarks, she placed her hands to her ears before whistling, and as soon as that whistle rang through the hallway, all the bubbles surrounding it popped all at once, letting off a loud sound that even rissa wasn't immune to.

The sin dropped to its knees in pain as the loud sound rang out

Rissa made her way to liun, checking his pulse. He was still alive thank goodness.

The Sin shook its massive head, tiger jaws unhinging with a crackle of bone as black ichor foamed from its split lips.

Ears ringing from the sonic pop, it clawed the floor for leverage, gouging deep furrows in the concrete.

Its mismatched eyes, one human, one slitted, locked onto Rissa kneeling by Liun.

The sound was bouncing around in it's head, it couldn't feel pain but this felt like the closest thing to it. That sound, it was unbearable. At the moment of the pop, it sounded like a hundred sonic booms had gone off all around it.

Then immediately after, the sound that was ringing in its ears became less like a sonic boom and more like a high frequency scream. Like a whistle forced through shredded metal, or glass being sandblasted.

Then, seconds later it dropped into a tearing roar, Then a warbling, choking hiss after a while. Its brain struggled to localize it. The sound felt like it was coming from everywhere and nowhere at the same time.

Then after the sound was finally gone and the sweet sound of silence fell upon its ears, causing an annoying ringing sound to resonate through its eardrums.

Then as it stood up, it realized that the attack didn't just stop at stunning it for a few seconds, no. It could barely stand. It felt like the ground was totally tilted.

It was like one side of the brain was telling it that it was spinning

And it was like the other side was telling it that it was stationary.

The result? violent vertigo and nausea.

The sin, in a rage, rushed at the girl who had Done this to it. Rissa saw this attack and rolled sideways, dodging out of the way just fast enough to not get killed by the claws that tore through the spot where her head had been a heartbeat earlier.

Rissa blew into the bottom of the wand again not making it as big as last time, only about the size of her torso. She flicked her wrist and sent the bubbles spiraling outward once again, there were nowhere near as many this time, but the sin made sure to dodge out of the way, it could not allow itself to get caught up in that again. Tho while it was making an effort to dodge, it fell to the floor, balance still off from the attack beforehand.

It quickly got off the ground and charged at the girl while she caught her breath.

Then it missed, slamming into the wall beside her. But it didn't slow the assault, it swung its hand out forcing her to dodge, but she wasn't fast enough and the force impacted the side of her ribs, throwing her across the hallway.

She grabbed her side in pain, if any of this things attacks hit her, she would be dead.

The Sin stood up again and tried walking over to her, but snarled as its stride broke, one leg folding awkwardly before it caught itself with a clawed hand.

If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

  "Annoying," it hissed.

"That's the idea," Rissa shot back, already retreating.

The Sin slammed its palm into the floor. And suddenly, doors started appearing on the floor, and she wasn't fast enough to get out of the way in time as one of the doors appeared below her, and she fell through it.

As she fell she expected to be stuck in another room somewhere in the building, but she was sorely mistaken as the door she had fallen through instead led to some kinda mountainous biome. And instead of being on the floor, she was falling out of the sky.

As she fell she quickly waved her wand and as she did so a giant bubble formed under her back, twice the size of her. She landed in it like a bean bag chair, it was deceptively soft, though landing on it still hurt. Then she covered her ears as she whistled, the pop of the bubble sending her flying a full 5 meters into the air, just enough to make it through the door before it closed which would have likely trapped her in that area forever.

As she made it back inside she rolled to disperse the force of being sent flying up at 5 meters a second.

Tho unfortunately for her, the Sin was already there when she got up.

It's tongue whipped toward her with speed even faster than the sin itself. She ducked, just barely, and she felt the air shear above her scalp.

She blew into her wand, which was tiny again. She managed to blow it up to a decent size before using it to block the sin's punch that it had thrown at her.

The wand was intact after the strike, but the force traveled through and shook her entire body. Thank God she had managed to disperse some of the force through the wand, otherwise she'd be dead.

The force did cause her to spit out blood.

she spun the wand in hand as a bunch more bubbles emerged from it. Forcing the sin back out of self preservation.

The previous bubble volley she had lost hadn't popped yet, so the sin had to be very careful where it stepped in order to not set anything off. Which was a lot more difficult than it would be normally, since the vertigo was hitting it hard.

Rissa took that very short moment to breathe, taking in all the air she could get. Her hands shook after the punch from the sin.

Then the sin made the bad decision of rushing at her, because the vertigo was still hitting, even if it was a little bit lessened.

It fell ontop of a whole heap of bubbles. And then the redhead whistled.

The shockwave from the bubbles blasted the sin through one of the many doors it had placed on the floor sending it to who knows where.

Rissa staggered, lungs burning, vision swimming. She planted the wand against the floor to stay upright.

She had to stay on guard. That was a phase 2 sin, there was no way something like that would've taken it out.

Tho she was surprised with herself, she'd never expected herself to be able to do that well against a phase 2 sin.

Rissa barely reacted before a door appeared in front of her and out of the door, a hand slammed into her stomach. The impact folded her in half, launching her down the hallway like a thrown doll. She skipped across the floor, hit the wall hard enough to crack it, and slid down, gasping.

  Pain bloomed late and vicious.

The Sin walked out of the door, brushing sand off its body annoyed.

It looked towards the girl who was giving it way too hard a time. It was like

Rissa laughed a breathless laugh. The look on the things face was priceless. Even with the blood running down her face and what was feeling like a cracked skull, she still had the energy to laugh at the thing.

The sin walked towards her, stumbling a little but determined to kill her right where she was. "You're dead, you damn bitch!" She rolled aside just as claws punched through the floor where she'd been kneeling, concrete exploding upward like shrapnel.

Then a bullet bounced off of it's back.

It turned back to look at the two that it had knocked unconscious, just to see that they were up and moving again. It growled at the annoyance, but while it was distracted, the girl blew a rather medium sized bubble next to the sin's ear and then popped it with her whistle.

The sin reeled back as the high frequency scream return, leaving it completely defenseless for a full minute as it's head rang.

It felt the bullets panging off it's skin but it couldn't do much about it. The fur was soaked with whatever red liquid the bubbles were made of and it couldn't form a full coherent thought.

Then a blast of bright yellow light slammed into the sins sight, throwing it through the wall directly behind it.

That was the first attack that had actually hurt since it became a phase two.

Rissa was blinded for a split second, the light, blinding. "What the hell!" Tried to rub her eyes to see, but she still lacked the ability to see. It was like a flashbang was thrown down.

It took a while before she finally, fully regained sight.

Her eyes opened as she noticed liun's teammates checking on him

She got up, legs buckling but she walked anyway.

Yui and Malik looked over to her.

For half a second, neither of them spoke.

Rissa looked wrecked, blood in her hair which was harder to notice cause it was red, blood running down her cheek, hands shaking, wand dragging faintly against the floor with each step. Her jacket was torn, ribs screaming every time she breathed, and there was still that faint ringing in her ears from the amount of times she burst her bubbles.

Malik was the first to move. He crossed the distance, catching her by the shoulder before her legs could give out again. "You shouldn't be standing," he said sharply, eyes scanning her injuries with a soldier's efficiency.

He noticed her staring at him for a good few seconds.

  "What?"

"Nothing nothing, you just look... Familiar." The redhead said which confused the dark skinned boy.

"The fuck is wrong with everyone today?" He muttered to himself, not Loud enough for her to hear, tho that didn't mean much since her hearing was already screwed up.

Liun's eyes fluttered open as Yui shook him, her grip tight on the front of his clothes.

"Hey, hey, stay with me," she said, her voice threading with panic. "Don't you dare check out now."

Liun sucked in a harsh breath like his lungs had forgotten how to work. Pain followed immediately after, blooming across his chest and spine in ugly waves. He groaned, trying to move, immediately regretting it.

"唉,發生什麼事了?" His vision was blurry, doubled. He slipped into Chinese, not really having the mental strength to translate to Japanese right now.

"Dont move" yui said, checking on him, she had no clue what she was doing.

He blinked again, forcing focus. He looked around the room, and then his eyes landed on Rissa.

For a second, he thought she'd fallen too. She was hunched forward, Malik's arm locked around her shoulders to keep her upright, wand hanging uselessly from her fingers. Blood streaked her temple and jaw. Her breathing was shallow, uneven.

"Okay, which one of you pulled off that light thing just now. And how?" She asked looking at the members of division 13.

Yui blinked, suddenly self-conscious under the group's collective gaze. Her hands twitched at her sides-still faintly glowing gold at the fingertips like dying embers.

"That was... me," she admitted, flexing her fingers awkwardly. "I don't know how, honestly. It just- happened."

"Are you... An angel gear?" The girl asked, but before yui could answer, the whole building shook, like an earthquake. But it wasn't an earthquake.

The Sin slammed through the wall like a battering ram, dust and concrete flying in every direction. Rissa staggered back, wand trembling, she did not have anything else in her after that earlier fight.

The thing spat it's tongue at her, way too fast for her to be able to dodge.

It almost hit her if not for a blade cutting the tongue off before it could reach her.

Ganju had saved her. The blonde had spent quite a long time lost in the maze that was this building, but thanks to all the holes, she was able to navigate her way here.

The severed tongue hit the floor with a wet slap, writhing like something still alive. The sins mouth bled with red and black as it reformed its tongue. The sin spat out ichor. "Another damn insect. How many of you are there"

Ganju rushed ahead, sword in hand.

She struck at its neck, but the blade didn't even manage to leave a scratch on the neck. Before the sin could get the time to gloat, the girl pushed off its arm in order to leap in the air, coming down with her sword and stabbing the thing in the eye.

The Sin backhanded her anyway, the force throwing her across the hallway, but she twisted midair, landed on one knee, and launched back before it could recover.

She quickly went to wrench her sword out of its eye, and strike at its chest... Which did nothing.

The impact rang like steel on steel, the blade screeching but not breaking through. The Sin grabbed for her face.

But then it was even further blinded by a blast of bright light that hit it from behind, sending it reeling

  Ganju didn’t waste the opening.

She drove her blade straight into its other eye.

The Sin clutched its face as black blood poured through its fingers. It stumbled, disoriented, roaring in fury.

  Ganju jumped back.

Rissa grunted. Sure they were giving it a hard time, but at the end of the day they weren't truly going to be able to kill it. A junior division member beating a phase 2 sin sounds like something that would come out of a fairy tail.

Suddenly the he window at the far end of the hallway detonated inward, sending a hurricane of shards spinning through the air. Wind roared in behind them, cold night air crashing into the stale, hallway like a shockwave.

A figure came through the opening feet-first, rotating midair Before landing on the floor in a crouch. It was aoi.

"Oh, so this is why we couldn't get in, a phase two took over the building." Aoi concluded upon seeing the sin.

He pulled his weapon out of his pocket, a blue yoyo.

The sin hesitated, it wasn't willing to underestimate another seemingly harmless weapon after what it just went through.

The conductor with the blue streaked hair flicked his wrist.

The yo-yo dropped, snapped taut, then he started spinning it, before launching it at speeds faster than a bullet.

The Sin swatted at it, not having any idea what this thing could do. Then the string wrapped around its forearm. It snarled and yanked, trying to pull the conductor toward it, but something was weird, instead of the director being pulled, the sin had been pulled forward, knees buckling against the ground.

"What kinda stupid ability does this damn yoyo have?" The sin grunted, trying to pull it's arm free from the string.

"No stupid ability, it's just a yoyo. That's right, you're losing to a children's toy" the conductor mocked, watching the thing pull. "Oh yeah, it also doesn't help that I'm just stronger than you."

He sidestepped as the Sin lunged, letting its shoulder pass inches from his chest, he pulled the yoyo, releasing the string from its hand. Then he flicked his wrists upward. Sending the weighted disks to slam against the sins jaw, breaking it and sending it reeling back.

The sin recovered instantly, if not for the better regeneration that came with being a phase two it would be completely out of energy right now and unable to regenerate.

It tried playing smarter this time, creating a door beneath itself and falling through. It's ability had also been enhanced after achieving this new phase, instead of switching rooms around at random, it could now just teleport through doors.

As the hallway was quiet for a while aoi stood there, trying to anticipate where the sin was going to come from.

Then he ducked as the sin jumped out of the door it had created behind him to attack him. Tho aoi had expected that, everyone always thinks that attacking from behind is a surprise, but when enough people try it it stops being surprising and starts being predictable.

The sin hit the floor, sliding a few feet from the momentum.

It then turned around and whipped its tail-like tongue backward, aiming blind. Aoi jerked the string, redirecting the yo-yo midair. It clipped the tongue’s side, knocking it just off-course enough that it lashed past Aoi’s ear instead of through his skull.

"Ugh, I really hate fighting sins like you." He whipped the yoyo back, before swinging it at the sin with enough force to crater the ground as it hit the sin in the head. "The tongue should stay in the mouth!" The man said

Black ichor sprayed across the wall.

The yo-yo rebounded, snapping back into Aoi’s palm like a living thing.

The Sin growled, in a way that would almost trick one into thinking it could feel pain. “You’re loud,” it hissed. “And annoying.”

“Funny, that’s exactly what all my coworkers say. I wonder if that means anything?" He jokingly pondered.

The sin pushed itself up, attempting to lunge at the sin hunter. It needed to kill him while he was off guard. Otherwise one more attack would end it.

It tried desperately to swipe at him, but he side stepped out of the way.

And in one fluid movement that no one else could track with their eyes, he tied the sin up, leaving it completely unable to break free.

The string wrapped around its limbs, neck, torso, jaw, layer upon layer, the Phase Two Sin was cocooned in the metallic black thread, pinned in a kneeling position, muscles straining uselessly against an unbreakable bind.

Aoi turned back to the junior division members, who had been watching that whole fight.

  "So... What did I miss?"
