Rewards

Looking over at the several windows outlying the possible rewards I could choose since I had healed my soul myself. The problem was is that I had no idea how rare an Epic Class Stone was or how valuable getting a Bloodline Trait would be.

"hey yo Dorthinoxin is it possible if I could get a little context here, it's like walking through a candy store except all the names are in a language you don't know" I spoke out hoping that the strange featureless Daemon was paying attention.

As the series of windows appeared and I saw that it registered my question I waited half expecting to be back in the place where Dorthinoxin worked. Instead the world seemed to hold its breath for a moment before he appeared in a suit this time and sitting at an polished antique table arranged for tea.

"Ah, Kien its been awhile for this version of you at least, please sit" the Ancient and yet somewhat whimsical being stated as he formed a mouth to blow the steam from his cup of tea. Pulling the chair back I sat down and placed a spoonful of sugar and a drizzle of honey before lightly making it up.

"It has been, how's work been for you?" I asked as I sipped the amber tea. I preferred black tea myself but it was good nonetheless.

"Annoying as always, though your fight with the Quetzal while not the craziest fight to happen a tutorial was entertaining especially your new true and blue domain skill, congratulations by the way" Dorthinoxin stated as he looked over at the corpse of the Quetzal.

"To sate my curiosity, how did that ability work, it seemed extremely op to not have any drawbacks besides the reduction in intelligence while it's active." I asked I almost expected to not receive an answer.

"I can share this because it's considered common knowledge, all Beastkin Races have access to an ability that allows them to trade their intelligence for the primal strength of their non-sapient ancestors, for you that would be a downgrade as you would become a raging ape but for the Quetzal here who had the blood a Quetzalcoatl it allowed him to almost become one although a true Quetzalcoatl is almost as strong as a dragon, and trust me when you learn of some of the other abilities that other species have access you won't think it's unfair" Dorthinoxin explained.

"Okay, and is their anything else you feel like talking about before we move onto the reason you're here?" I asked before taking a long sip of tea.

"Eh, since I'm here might as well go into the spiel about dear old City-State of Juxia, first off it's much more than a simple resting point, it serves as an introduction on how actual system civilizations operate, while also giving you access to introductory courses about the Mortal Plains at large stuff thats considered common knowledge, however it also allows you to take instructions from prominent system verified experts, you can redeem your Tutorial Points for these experts and I recommend you do, any questions about Juxia" Dorthinoxin took the opportunity to launch into a very obviously pre practiced spiel.

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

"Okay, so what types of classes would I be able to attend, just examples" I asked my curiosity peaked.

"Well their are classes on Stewardship, War Tactics, Various Skill Trainings, Magic Theory, History of the System, Higher Plains and how to find them, and a near infinite amount of others" Dorthinoxin listed off examples that sounded interesting but at the same time could be incredibly boring if the teacher sucked.

"Alright besides the Courses is their anything else to do in Juxia?" I asked.

"Hmm, there's challenges, parties, oh and a lot of major factions of the Plains have Embassies so you might be able make allies" he explained and while I found it interesting that their where parties it wasn't all to surprising.

"Okay final question on this topic, what were those challenges you mentioned?" As I asked I took another long sip of tea.

"Oh their the way to earn extra Tutorial Points, experience and resources" Dorthinoxin explained.

"Got, side quests, and now back to business, rewards, first off I've got to ask which one of these is the rarest or the hardest to get and which one do you think is the most valuable for me, short term, mid term and long term" I asked and Dorthinoxin pondered for a moment before he answered.

"Hmm, the rarest is definitely the [World Wonder Improvement] and is the most valuable mid term, short term is obviously the Stat Boost, and the long term is the Bloodline Trait" Dorthinoxin answered and I was kinda of surprised, I would have figured that the Class Stone would fit in along the scale.

"How rare, or should I say hard is it to get an Epic Class Stone?" I asked Dorthinoxin.

"Ehh, for you let's say theres opportunities, now if you were some shumck from an already long integrated world I would the class Stone but not you" Dorthinoxin replied.

"Okay and how powerful is the World Wonder Improvement?" I asked him.

"Its powerful, and depending on your continued progress in the Tutorial you could end up with a contender of [Defining World Wonder] once you get back, though the reason why it's only 1 RP is because you have to actually survive the Tutorial in order to gain a benefit to you" He explained.

"Wait then why is the Bloodline Trait the best Long term reward?" I asked.

"Well not only will you get to benefit from it, so will your direct relatives and your descendants" Dorthinoxin explained to me.

"Maybe but that means that's the only thing I'll be able to get, however I'm curious what could I get from the [Magical Resources]?" I asked the Daemon.

"Magical Plants, Ores, textiles, crystals, monster parts, and other things, essentially if it's magical by nature and could he considered a non-sapient resource you have a chance to get it although it is capped out at Rank 3 but the vast majority of the possible resources are going to be tier two." He explained and I knew immediately that I wanted it.

"Okay and for [Epic Skill], what could I get from that?" I asked him wondering if it was limited or if I could pick anything.

"Technically you can pick anything, but some skills are incompatible with your body or heritage, although you do get to filter through them to find what you want based on tags" he stated.

"Alright that's all the questions, and I'm antsy for my presents, is have a good day dude" I said draining my tea cup.

"A pleasure" He responded before the scene melted away and the world resumed. I selected [World Wonder Improvement], [Magical Resources] and [Epic Skill].

It was interesting that the designation was changed and it hinted at more but I was distracted by three packages. One looked like a fang about as long as my forearm although I couldn't be sure through the wrapping. The second one was a small package about the size of my palm, and third one a small heart sized sphere.

Before I could inspect them a new system window appeared in front of me.

Thinking for a moment I needed to think about where I lacked. A Regeneration ability would be nice, or something that could prevent my magic from being blocked if that was a thing. Or maybe another magic skill like [Geomancy] or [Floramancy]. Selecting a Manipulation based magic tag for the search I saw three skills pop up. [Spectromancy], [Solarmancy], and [Lightmancy].

[Spectromancy] would allow me to commune with spirits and make deals with for various things such as their services, knowledge, or power. Spirits in this case being Sapients who were dead but didn't have an afterlife and were waiting to be reincarnated.

[Solarmancy] had to do with the sun and would be useless to me until I was back on Earth. When I got back to Earth it would be freakin' op as it would allow me to draw power from the sun and control it locally like for example making a certain have more or no sunlight or send down a death beam. Unfortunately considering my connection to caves I didn't think that I would benefit from it.

Finally, [Lightmancy] not only covered light it also covered the absence their of. I could use it to create illusions or make someone be temporarily blind by taking away the light.
