Decide

Then, after a while of examining the map, Bun and I had our route figured out; and so now we were ready to head off towards a ship that could take us to our destination!!

And so we walked along, and as we walked along Bun did a calculation to see how long it would take for me to reach the ship; and Bun calculated that it would take about a week.

Bun was a bit too impatient for that, and so he began trying to think of a way to safely transport me to the ship in a faster way…; and then after a while he saw a shopping cart that someone had abandoned near a tree, and then he put some blankets inside of the shopping cart so that I’d have plenty of padding inside of the shopping cart; and then I got into the shopping cart, and so now Bun was pushing the shopping cart towards the ship; and this method of traveling was so much faster than I could walk that now it would only take us several hours to reach the ship!…

And so then before long we reached a ship, and then we told the captain where we wanted to go to; and then the captain (who was a kangaroo named Dasha) said that her ship would be reaching where we wanted to go to eventually, but she also added that there would be a lot of stops on the way to our destination.

This was fine with Bun and I, and so then Dasha showed us to where we could stay on the ship, and Dasha also showed us a list of things that we could do in order to pay for us being able to travel on the ship; and some of those things included mopping floors, cooking, cleaning dishes, and other similar sorts of tasks; and then Bun and I thanked Dasha, and then Dasha went off to wait for a few more hours before she’d be sailing the ship away from the shore…; and then after a few more hours Dasha sailed the ship away from the shore, and during those hours I had done some mopping and Bun had cleaned some dishes; and so now that the ship was moving Bun and I excitedly went to the front of the ship to watch as we made our way further away from the shore!…; and then Dasha saw us and said, “And so have you 2 ever been on a ship before?…” and then I said, “Not me!…” and then Bun said, “And I’ve never been on a ship before, but I was on a fairly small boat one time…; but that boat situation didn’t go so well…” and then Dasha said, “Well that’s too bad…

And so why didn’t the boat situation go very well?…” and then Bun began to explain to Dasha and I about what had happened in the boat situation that hadn’t gone very well…; and so he said, “Well, see, I had noticed that there was a bunch of food that was floating out in the water on a raft; and so, naturally, I wanted to go and get the food!…; and so I then borrowed my neighbor’s boat, and then I paddled all the way out to the food!…; but then a shark emerged from the water and said, “Haha!…

  You fell for my bait!…

And so now you shall be eaten!…” and then I said, “Ummm…

Is there any way that I can convince you not to gobble me up?…” and then the shark said, “Nope!…” and then the shark jumped! over the boat that I was in!, and his jaws were wide open and would’ve killed me except that I dashed! to another part of the boat just in time to avoid him!…

And so then he jumped! over the boat and towards me again!, but I again managed to just barely avoid him!…

And so the jumping and the avoiding then continued for a while, and then eventually he said, “This strategy isn’t working…

  Hmph!…

And so I guess I’ll just destroy your boat!…” and then I said, “Wait though!…

Because, see, this isn’t my boat!, and it belongs to my neighbor who’s a bear!; and do you really wanna make a bear angry at you?…” and then the shark said, “And how do I know that you’re not just lying when you say that a bear owns this boat?…” and then I pointed to a part of the boat where the bear’s name was carved into the boat; and then the shark groaned unhappily, and then the shark went back to trying to gobble me up by jumping over the boat and towards me again!…

But I was too good at dashing! away!; and so eventually the shark muttered that I was more trouble than I was worth, and then he swam away from me…; and then I quickly! paddled the boat back to shore!, and I haven’t been in a boat again since that day because I didn’t want to risk another encounter with a shark!…; and so even though I’m still unwilling to go on a small boat like that again I’m all good with being on a big ship like this one because it’s too big for a shark to be able to jump! over!” and then I said, “Whoa!…

I’m glad that you were so good at dashing! out of the way like that!…” and then Dasha said, “Your dashing skills definitely came in handy, for sure!…

And a shark would never attack me if I were to be on a small boat because I’d just punch! the shark and send them back into the water if a shark were to try attacking me like that!…” and then Bun said, “Nice!…

And so the only food that that shark would be getting by attacking you would be a knuckle sandwich!!…” and then Dasha said, “Absolutely!…

Though I’m actually friends with a lot of sharks, and so hopefully none of them will attack me and I won’t have to give any of them any knuckle sandwiches…” and then I said, “It’s always best to try n’ be on good terms with as many folks as possible, for sure!…” and then Bun said, “Agreed!…

I mean, I didn’t even wanna be on bad terms with that shark, but he kinda forced me into being on bad terms with him by attacking me!…” and then Dasha said, “Yes indeed!…

And so it’s good to be on good terms with as many folks as possible, but it’s also good to be prepared to confront any folks who decide to attack you…” and then I said, “And do you ever run into folks who decide to attack you?…” and then Dasha said, “Well, we are out in the ocean, and there are pirates who roam around out here…; but luckily I’ve got this ship very well defended, and so if any pirates decide to attack us then they’re going to end up regretting that they decided to attack us…” and then I said, “Yikes!…

I’ve heard stories about pirates, and they sound really scary!…” and then Bun said, “Oh yeah!…; they’re even more scary than sharks are!…” and then Dasha nodded and said, “They are indeed…; they are indeed…” and then the 3 of us were silent for a bit as the ship continued moving further and further away from the shore…
