The guards who went to check on Vegis were standing outside the room and were trying to explain what they saw. Eventually, they had to turn on their cameras and turn towards the room and were immediately flashbanged by the explosion of lights that destroyed the room. The guards were on the floor, pinned by the rubble and knocked unconscious. V4 ran over to see what was the commotion and removed the rubble over the guards. It grabbed them with its mouth and tossed them on to its back and ran to the house. The ball of ice that encased Vegis was like a sun appearing on the world, shooting blasts of light everywhere and leaving holes filled with unnatural coldness.
The clones inside the house tried to remove the ice vines that restrained V2 but it retaliated against them and tied them up against V2. when they touched each other, they merged and started to morph into something else. Every blast released increased the size of the ball and this led to the blast becoming stronger. V4 tried to dodge these blasts until it was forced to throw the guards at one of the other buildings right before getting struck with one of the beams. This smashed V4 into the ground before yanking it towards the blazing ice ball. When it got near the glowing ball, it opened itself up and subsumed it. Inside, both Vegis and V4 were fusing together and transforming into something new.
The clones, V1 V2 V3, were fused together and morphing into something similar to V4, but much larger. The fur and scales flicked with all the colors of the dawn but for dulling into a dark gray. Above their surface, the old markings of their body peeled off and hovered over them. They shift and change, transforming into new markings that accommodate the new form. Its front limbs ended in hand-like structures, tipped with claws resembling a cat’s. The teeth that lined its mouth were all large and sharp, but also thick and strong. Its back legs ended with paws with an extra claw above the ankle. Its head was like a fusion of a wolf, crocodile, and komodo dragon. This new fused creature had a long tail with a needle at the end. It was roughly 50% bigger than V4 and held all the accumulated knowledge and experience of the 3 clones that constituted its existence.

In the distance, the glowing ball stopped shooting blasts of pure coldness everywhere and just floated in the air. Only after an hour after the destruction stopped did the scientist finally go out of their buildings and check on the guards that were embedded into the outside walls. They were left with several broken bones, damage to their spine augmentation, and one of them had rebar stabbed through their leg. When they got finished with guards, they set up recording equipment and sensors with the help of back up sent from the elder’s facility. Over the course of the night, they learned that the ball of ice was slowly shrinking, there was a build up of energy that increased as time passed, and that Vegis and V4 were inside the ball. They only knew that Vegis was alive due to the amalgam creature that the clones became, told them after breaking out of the house. The Elder arrived at the facility with a thick book in their hand. They stared at the floating sphere that was above the smoldering ruins that once was Vegis’s dorm with fascination and fear. They looked at the craters around them, still cold from the blasts. The scientist gave the Elder a small summary of the report they were still making on the data they had and would continue to study throughout the night.
