Prologue: Primordial’s Legacy
Silvanos took a deep breath as he exited the portal the swirling blue energy snapping shut behind him with an audible click. He looked around quickly scanning to make sure he was alone. Just to make sure he reached one of his tentacles into the dirt and sent out a pulse through the ground. When nothing came back he nodded to himself it was time to get to work. He tightly clutched a vial of golden liquid in his left hand in his right he held aloft his Kirnanun with its four foot curved blade and six foot shaft it stood just as tall as he did.
The forest around him was quiet, almost deathly still none of the new creatures Agorath had been releasing to make a proper ecosphere had made it up here yet so there were no… what his Harbinger call them? Birds… that was it, there were no birds making their strange songs in the branches. He looked up at the low mountain in front of him it was pretty pitiful compared to the other ones not two leagues to the north but this would suffice for his purposes.
He grunted as he shifted tentacles. His injuries from the war ached. He shook his bearded head he couldn’t allow himself to go on a tangent he had work to do and he had to finish it before the Great Gathering for the Ascension. He reached out with his senses and the thousand and thousands of strands of mana became visible to him. He outlined a section of the mountain with his mind and pulled on the strands of mana like he was plucking a harp except the melody was only one he could hear. Slowly but surely he cut unit he mountain formed the great chamber as well as several hidden passages smoothed the walls and condensed the stone till an almost glass like sheen sparkled up at him. He created doors and the a pool in the center. He filled the space with air and created the necessary ventilation. He carved out a pool in the center and filled it with water. He then looked down at the vial in his hands. The liquid ichor glittered in the light filtering through the trees. This was the last of the genetic material and it was all he could do for his creations. During the war many of them had created their own races and creatures many of which gain sentience. But his humans worried the others. They were cunning and resourceful. Ambitious and strong, warlike, and cruel. They advanced far faster than any of the other races. Originally the other had wanted to destroy his creation after war but he had forbade it. But he offered a solution that the other could send their races to other worlds nearby and only the humans and a few of the non sentient races would stay on Eden. That way after Ascension the other races would be safe from the humans. The other agreed under the understanding that the humans would be cut off from mana and that their lifespan would be limited to just shy of a century. At the time He had agreed, but the more he watched them as the others prepared to leave this plane the more he couldn’t bare to abandon them. They could be cruel it was true but they could asking show great kindness and compassion and they mirrored his own hate for injustice in all its forms. But there was something he had never told the others. The humans were incomplete, he hadn’t gotten the chance to complete their genetic code. The others wii oh old never allow him to do it now so he was hoping these sanctuaries could give them the gift they were always meant to have.
He held the vial up to his eye trying to determine if there was enough. This was the last of the genetic material it would have to do. It should be enough since once it was in the blood it would self replicate. He quickly entered the tunnel and into the vast cavern he had created. He didn’t have long the others would be looking for him soon if he didn’t show up.

He reached out with his mind and began the work. He split his mind and let his unconscious handle several of the tasks. He had long since mastered subconscious magic and he no longer had to focus on what he was doing his mind knew what needed to be done. Runes were cut into the walls and empowered with life mana and many other types. The pool in the center of the room began to glow as first life then nature mana was added to it. It shimmered lighting up the dark cavern around him. He sent his feelers out into the earth stabilizing it and connecting the chamber directly to the Ley lines with mana. He cut other rooms leaving a small amount of his weaker mithril weapons behind. He had no need for such weak weapons anymore but maybe they would. He had tried to leave something to help guide them in every one of the six other sanctuaries but this was about as much as he could leave here. Finally he approached the pool the teal glowing liquid was strangely hypnotic even to him. He pulled the stopper from the vial and very carefully poured it into the shallow pool. The whole pool flashed and the ground began to tremble before stopping as suddenly as it began. He stepped back from the now golden glowing pool. He wasn’t done just yet he needed to set the parameters. He couldn’t have to pool activating for just anyone. He set it to only interact with human genetic code then with a thought he did the same to everything in the cavern. Now none of the weapons would be usable for any but the humans.
Now he just had one last step to complete. He reach out, reached like he never had before and grasped all the man’s strands he could see. He bound them together tightly before feeding them into the pool. He stumbled slightly it had been a long time since he had channeled that much mana. Not even the war had taxed him so. He turned to leave and prepare to seal the cave but on a whim he pulled seven gold rings from his storage. He attached each of them to their own dimensional spaces and locked them as well to only respond to the changed DNA. In these rings he also hid a few of his memories and private thoughts then he attached them to an alcove in the wall.
With that done he left sealing the entrance behind him. Once outside he smoothed the ambient magic making it as inconspicuous as possible before floating up to look down on his handy work. It was rushed and not as refined as the other ones but he was truly out of time. For a moment, just a fleeting one but he wondered if he was doing the right thing. Then he pushed the thoughts aside. Whatever happened he just could bring himself to abandon his creation completely. They had fought well in the war and lost much they deserved this at the very least. This was all he could do for them now. Even now he felt the call. The pull on his soul from the next plane soon he would be continuing the war with their hated foe

Soon he would be continuing the war with their hated foe on the next plane. But as he opened a portal to leave he couldn’t help but wonder how many worlds they would leave behind with broken or half finished life spread across its surface.
