Is Wifi speed good in the hospital?

Lucas rode all the way back to his tiny apartment and locked his old bicycle to the big locust tree outside. The place was barely twenty-five square meters, but everything inside was neatly arranged. Boxes of unsold socks were still stacked under his bed.

Ignoring his growling stomach, Lucas closed the curtains. With a flick of his will, the Marrow-Cleansing Fruit appeared in his hand. It was red and round, almost like a plum. He swallowed.

“What am I afraid of? I’ve got nothing to lose.”

He tossed it into his mouth.

  It melted instantly.

  And… that was it.

  Gone.

That was supposed to cleanse his body? Even a regular fruit would at least taste sweet.

  Five minutes later, something changed.

Lucas suddenly felt spiritual energy more clearly than ever before. Energy surged toward him, flooding into his body. His cultivation shot upward in a single rush.

  Iron Five-Star.

  Iron Six-Star.

  Iron Seven-Star.

  He froze.

His talent had improved. He didn’t know to what level—but it sure as hell wasn’t bottom-tier anymore.

His hands trembled with excitement. Then he immediately patted himself down.

  Still intact.

After turning bald from that Strength Potion, who knew what kind of side effects this fruit might have? Lucas cautiously checked himself again. Just as he was finishing, someone spoke outside.

“Lucas? You’re back late… you didn’t eat, right?”

  “I made you some noodles…”

The door opened slightly. A girl in a floral dress with a ponytail stood there shyly, holding a bowl of noodles. What she saw was Lucas bent over, thoroughly “inspecting” himself.

Her eyes widened. Her face turned bright red.

  Bang!

  The door slammed shut.

“I’ll leave the noodles by the door… y-you can eat after you’re done…”

  Lucas blinked.

  “…This is a misunderstanding.”

Too late. She had already run off.

  …

  The noodles were good.

  A bit salty.

  Don’t ask why.

After calming himself, Lucas opened the system interface. His Anger Points had surpassed 110,000. Beating Wang Lin had paid off nicely. Li Muyan contributed quite a bit too.

  Enough for a ten-pull.

“[Lucky Roulette Initiated — Ten Spins Begin.]”

“[Thank You for Participating — Consolation Prize: Strength Potion x1.]”

  “[Thank You for Participating.]”

  “….”

After all ten spins, Lucas stared at the results in disbelief.

“Thank you for participating”? On a lucky wheel?

Now his inventory was filled with Strength Potions.

  Then it hit him.

  He could sell them.

Sure, they caused baldness. But the power boost was ridiculous. People would buy them. And if they complained afterward? Even better.

  Free Anger Points.

  “Nice.”

Satisfied, Lucas lay back on his bed and grabbed his cheap fifty-dollar phone, planning to scroll for a bit before sleeping. Instead, he noticed he’d been added to the Spirit Class group chat. It was exploding.

“Guys! Have you seen the viral video? Bald dude beating up a Spirit University student at River Night Market! 400k views already!”

  “What? Send it!”

  Someone posted the clip.

Lucas watched himself—wearing a Hello Kitty T-shirt—sitting on Wang Lin and smashing him repeatedly with a plastic stool.

  “Damn, that bald guy’s brutal!”

“Even watching through the screen hurts.”

“Wasn’t the guy getting beaten a Bronze-level Strength Awakener?”

“How old is that bald guy? Why’s he running a street stall?”

“Masters really do hide among civilians.”

  Lucas smirked quietly.

  Thankfully, the video was blurry.

  Then someone said:

“Wait… doesn’t that bald guy look like Lucas from our class?”

“Him? No way. That weakling? He can’t even beat Iron rank properly.”

“Yeah, three years and only Iron Three-Star. Space-type is useless.”

“After tomorrow’s monthly exam, he won’t even be in our class anymore.”

  “Early farewell.”

  “Goodbye in advance.”

  Lucas didn’t respond.

  He just smiled coldly.

Tomorrow? They were in for a surprise.

  Then another message popped up:

“Wait, wasn’t that Li Muyan helping the guy who got beaten?”

  “Damn, it was her.”

“I heard she’s dating a Spirit University student.”

  “@LiMuyan What happened?”

  “@LiMuyan You okay?”

  “@LiMuyan Is your boyfriend alive?”

[Anger Points from Li Muyan +555]

The system notification spammed rapidly. Lucas almost laughed out loud.

She probably wasn’t typing because she was at the hospital.

So he decided to add fuel to the fire.

“@LiMuyan Is the hospital WiFi so fast? Must be nice having free internet. I’m almost out of data.”

  [Anger Points +999]

  She never replied.

But the Anger Points kept climbing.

  Women truly never forget.

The next morning, Lucas stepped outside in great spirits and immediately ran into his landlady’s daughter, backpack on, ready for school.

  “Rainy, about yesterday—”

She glanced at him. Her face turned red again.

“Lucas… you should rest earlier at night. Take care of your health.”

Then she ran off at full speed.

  Lucas stood there, speechless.

“I was just checking my body…”

Pulling on a baseball cap to cover his bald head, Lucas mounted his old bicycle and rode toward school. The chain clattered rhythmically as he pedaled.

The monthly exam was about to begin.
