Chapter 112. Third awakening.

Unlike the last time, Jack is more than ready and already expecting his next great breakthrough. No sudden awakening in the middle of the might, or pleasant surprises at the fact. This time, he was calmly tracking his experience bar as the last few percentage points slowly fill up, his 'minions' working hard as they slaughtered monsters by the dozens. Ask any level ninety and above monster on the continent the kids were waiting for if such a pace was possible, and they would just look at you like some heavily damaged fool. That or an alcoholic who had wasted their brains away.

And yet, that was the truth. Jack was about to reach level fifty. And that too without having spent even a year in this place. Of course, he had his cheats. A class so beyond reason that some sort of bullshitery was only to be expected. Then again, In Jack's defense, no other class could do anything similar to what he was experiencing right now. Not actual combat classes at the very least, though those, at the same rarity as Aspect of creation and destruction, could create a much greater destruction, as well as take out much, much higher level monsters than he himself was. Right now, if Jack was put in a similar situation, he would be forced to depend on his extra powerful spirit for that. And not without some sort of a cost. It was about to change though.

  Level up. Level 50 reached.

Almost as if called for, the notification flashed across his eyes, followed by the changes that came with it. First and foremost, were the stats that he gained from the class itself, aptly named now as 'Greater twin aspect of Creation and Destruction'. No longer did he only gain spirit from his class itself, though that too was admittedly insane enough, what with spirit being as insane of a stat as it was. Now, he also got an extra 10 stats to intelligence, 5 stats to dexterity, 10 stats to vitality and 5 stat point to strength. Not to mention, an additional 5 stat points to spirit, though that mostly came from creation part.

As important as the stat gain was, he acquired so much more in the form of skills, even if they were admittedly few in number. Unbound by laws of the lessers(EX) had gone up a rank, now having a nice plus sign right after the EX. The description did not change much, only adding an extra sentence that the cost had gone down significantly further when compared to the previous rank, making all his future crafts even cheaper.

The skill 'The end made manifest(EX)' had also leveled up, joining 'Unbound by laws of the lessers' in rank. As a passive skill and always active, Jack had admittedly not felt too much of an impact it provided, though that was due to a multitude of reasons. Firstly, he was using quite the disgusting weapons when he was engaged in combat, making him much more powerful than otherwise he should be. Then, of course, his class was just above what should be found in the level of world he was at the time, adding yet another highly unfair advantage. And last, but not least, his spirit and experience pushed him further still, making the gap just too damn big. It was also a part of the reason, even if not entirely conscious, that Jack had gone with a less combat focused plan this time around.

Still, the increase in this skills power was quite stark, doubling it at the very least. What had once been 'The end made manifest(EX+)- as the aspect of destruction it is so much easier for you to take apart whatever stands in your way should you desire so. Weapons and magic wielded is more destructive, rising in potency the longer the encounter is. Base amplification- 30%. Max amplification- 200% +10% for every five levels past 25.', now provided a much better scaling. 'At EX+ rank, the base amplification is 60%, with the maximum of 400%, +10% for every 3 levels past level 25.'

'Matter Storage', 'Spark of inspiration' and 'Origin of matter' had also gone up a rank, providing slightly better perks than before, though the change was not nearly as large as with the aforementioned skills. It was not all just upgrades though, for there were also a few new additions to Jack's arsenal, giving him some extra tools for whatever mess me might find himself in the future.

First, there was a rather funnily named skill 'It's all the same, really.(EX)'. Unlike what one would expect from such lackluster skill name, the effect of it was quite spectacular, providing Jack with just the right tools to get just about anything done in combat. If he had been limited in regards to magic spells in combat, he was no longer. Creation was, after all, more than just making tools, weapons and armour. Everything that could be seen, or interacted with, was created in one way or another at some point in time.

It's all the same, really.(EX)- In the hands of an aspect of creation, mana is the greater tool that allows one shape whatever his heart desires and mind can conjure. Be it fire, wind, earth, water, or more esoteric elements like space or perhaps even time with enough mastery and understanding, it can all be called forth like any other spell in the hands of a practiced mage.

As great as the skill was in its versatility, there were also flaws, though not immediately apparent. Well, less flaws really, and more like the skill was unsupported by the rest of his kit. With weapons he crafted, his skill 'The end made manifest' made them more deadly. No such luck with this particular skill, though it was only natural. He was something of a crafter after all, and besides, Jack was quite sure he would get something that supports his ability to end things on the next advancement at level 75.

The other skill was 'Domain of destruction.' And that was a skill Jack was insanely happy about. No longer would he need to walk around and spend time in scattering his kills. Now, everything he killed could be scattered into mana dust and then absorbed into his matter storage almost effortlessly, saving him a boatload of time whenever he was out gathering more matter for his needs. The caveat was that if the target was not a living or moving entity that had been ended, the skill would cost mana based on the difference in mana density between the object that would be dispersed and Jack himself. That would mean Jack could not just use his domain to stand in one place, or slowly walk around and then turn earth immediately around him into matter. It would cost mana, and would be an extremely inefficient and exhausting way to do things. It would always be better to just manually devour rare and high tier materials to replenish his matter stocks.

An honest to god shit eating smile spread across Jack's face as he read through the notifications. This was a result long time coming, and one of the main prerequisites for him to continue on with his own return home to kids. Of course, now that he could set his sights towards the Deadlands, and then whatever lays next before he left this continent, he still had one task to finish. He did promise of sorts to Selin he would designate a near immortal entity to the task of dungeon warden. A servant who would watch over the dungeon level.

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

And who could ever be a better candidate than the damn sibling of Nivi's who caused her exile and subsequent fate. And with his latest advancement, Jack was so far beyond whatever they could throw at him it was not even funny. Of course, Nivi would have to be brought along with him at the very least. She held no love for her family and would no doubt rejoice at the misfortune her damned sibling would experience at Jack's hands. At least that's what she had told Jack more than once, so why would he not believe his elven healer maid? And so, that was what Jack planned next, going over everything he knew about the hidden elven settlement he was planning to visit unannounced and do some untowards things within.

Thankfully, with his new advancement, his spell creation skill really, Jack got to work , summoning Nivi to his side. As he waited her arrival, he mulled over the correct form of the spell he would craft, eventually deciding on a hybrid between a spell and a formation, using the best of both worlds to achieve the maximum effect. The core was a simple divination spell that would point towards what you were seeking. It had a very limited range and just as limited number of things one could seek with it. The birthplace of the targeted entity was one such thing. Then, to bolster the effect Jack combined it with a two level magical formation that was auxiliary in nature. One level would strengthen the effect of the spell cast, the second would extend the range. To milk the maximum value out of his attempt, Jack layered another spell on top of it all, one that's single purpose was to find one's blood relatives. Unlike the previous divination spell, this one was rooted in blood magic and its range was enormous.

By the time Nivi arrived, Jack was already done with his own preparation for the most part, spending the rest of his time tweaking his energy wings to be more efficient and allow him to easily take another person with him. There was no way he could take the entire maid squad with him on this quick trip to Nivi's birthplace, but Nivi was a must. And since he knew that there was a dungeon within that hidden elven city, the return would be as simple as just clearing that and then using the end console he had access to to teleport back here with their acquisition.

"You called for me master?" Nivi walked slowly into Jack's room as she inquired, her steps slow, her gaze lowered and her cheeks slightly tinged pink. From the first glance Jack immediately realized why this particular reaction.

"Yes, but not for the reason you think."

"Huh?" a more furious blush colored Nivi's face as she realized her own misunderstanding, though Jack could see how she came to the conclusion. She might not have any real experience, but she was trained to be a bed slave all the same. And a skilled one at that. And Jack did acquire her, and while he had not gone all the way in tasting her in every way, her lap was used on a decently regular base as his pillow. Surely, calling for her this late in the evening could mean only one thing.

"We will get to that at some point in time as well, worry not your pretty little head Nivi. But no, I called you here for entirely different reason this time." Jack began explaining. "As you must have heard by now, I did promise Selin a keeper of sorts for the continued operation of the modified dungeon even when I am no longer here" Jack noticed the alarm flashing in her eyes, so he just plowed on, not giving Nivi the time to fo full blown panic mode" and no, that keeper will not be you, worry not. You are my maid, and as such you will remain by my side most of the time." The last sentence calmed her down, her shoulders slumping in relief as she exhaled.

"But, I do require an elf for the task. Any other race would be just too damn short lived. And, since my sweet elven maid has been wronged by just such a creature, I believe it would be only fair to give her some well deserved revenge and perhaps closure. We will be leaving this continent behind soon enough after all. Would not lingering regrets left behind."

"Really?" At Jack's words Nivi looked at him, eyes glimmering with warmth over his words. Jack, as her new master who had bought her, should not be that nice to her, she understood now. Most definitely not when he was not even enjoying her to the fullest.

"Yes, so come over and let's see if we can gain some clue as the where they are hiding."

Nivi skipped over to his side, her eyes glimmering with the barest hint of a happy tear forming in the corners or her eyes, waiting his further instructions.

Jack, in turn, gestured her closer, guiding her to sit right in front of him, with her back pressing against his chest. Once there, Jack handed her the palm sided plate he had inscribed the formations on and told her to hold it tight. He placed one of his hands under hers, seemingly using his own as a support, while the other hand of his was placed on Nivi's shoulder.

"Just relax, think of your former home in the elvel city you were born and raised in, and recall your ex-family that framed and exiled you. I will do the rest."

Nivi did as told, closing her eyes and thinking of the two things Jack had told her to. At first, her face turned calm and nostalgic, with slight longing etched within. Then, it changed to a scowl and disgust. Clearly, the betrayal from both her sibling and parents had left a scar that had been etched in her soul.

Jack did as he had told, focusing his own mind and spirit on the task at hand. With all the pieces in place, he activated the two spells he had prepared, centered on Nivi, her birthplace and her bloodline. A blood red circle enveloped the two at the base of their feet, lines like lightning slowly creeping from the outer edge of it towards the center, creating a collection of rather odd symbols as it advanced.

Once the lightning like red lines had reached the center, another circle formed over the first, this one gray in colour and with blocky rune like markings forming from the outer line inwards, slowly settling itself over the first circle. Once it was done and sat atop the first, the two began rotating in opposite directions, emitting stronger and stronger glow. As the glow got brighter, the two runic circles began to filt upwards, maintaining their size and rotation speed.

Once at the same height as the formation plate Nivi held in her hands, the two circles stopped ascending and began to shrink down, converging right atop the aforementioned formation plate, setting on it and merging inside. Once done, the glow dissipated rather quickly and revealed a notable change in the plate itself. The plate now looked like a compass of sorts, with two pointers turned in the same direction.

"Open your eyes Nivi." Jack half whispered in her ear "It's a resounding success."

As she opened her eyes, her gaze fell on the plate, more specifically on the two arrows turned the same direction. "Is that?"

"Mhm. that's the direction in which we will find them. I will talk with Selin and the rest of the maids tomorrow, and then we depart."

"Just us two? Will that be enough?"

"Yea. I doubt your former family can deal with a third awakening expert." Jack calmly replied, earning a slow head turn from Nivi, with extremely shocked expression all over her beautiful face.
