Talk with Demigods

Vitalion walked through Windstone's dock with leasure, walking slowly. The people stood at the docks edge, watching as he led the combatants to a shabby inn on the docks.

Vaelora followed behind him, thinking back to her last attack on Cain. Her sword, while powerful, couldn't just summon an actual lightning strike. Only under the right conditions like heavy rain, or simply having enough thunder clouds around could she do so.

But that wasn't the case for her attack earlier. The sky was clear, not many clouds in sight, and it definitely wasn't raining. She could only come up with one explanation, her father. Pontus held dominion over this area, would He allow Cain to get away unscathed?

Although He couldn't out right kill the man, as even Gods had rules. He could temporarily create the conditions for His daughter to draw upon more of His power. Silently, Vaelora muttered a prayer to her father, offering her thanks.

As they entered, the smell of alcohol and bad hygiene filled the room. The downstairs looked to be a sort of bar, but it was completely empty due to the conflict. Not even a bartender or manager remained.

Vutalion set his patients down on some tables filling the room. Turning toward Vaelora he began witb her. He sat her down in a table and put a hand to her missing eye. A warm glow spread from his hand, seeping into her eye socket.

Vaelora didn't quite know how to explain the feeling. It was as if a warm current were flowing into her wounds, touching every part of her body. Slowly she began to recover, and a few moments later her wounds had stopped bleeding completely.

Vutalion glanced her over and spoke, his tone cold but caring.

"I did the best I could for now, I'll get back to you once the ofhers are stable. Try not to exert yourself or your wounds will open again."

With that he turned to the more critical patients. All of them suffered major bloodloss and their bodies were dead tired. Raising his hands, his energy spread. One by one Kaelon, Kane and Fenric were covered by the immense vital energy. Their wounds began closing slowly but surely. Kane was the first to come to, taking less power to heal as a mortal.

Blinking he gathered his bearing before hurriedly bowing before The Immortal.

"Lord Immortal, it's an honor to meet you, even if under bad circumstances. My name is Kane, captain of the Altan Order. Thank you for your healing."

Vitalion looked down on the man, a slight smile appearing on his face.

"No need for thanks, Sir Kane. It's why I came to this city in the first place."

Kane bowed deeper, continuing his thanks.

"Still, you saved our lives. If you hadn't shown up Cain would have never retreated. We would all be dead right now if it weren't for you."

Vitalion didn't bother replying, turning toward the still unconscious Kaelon and Fenric. The two began twitching, waking as their wounds closed. Fenric came to first, Myrr jumping up on him excitedly.

"Get off me Myrr, I'm still weak."

A smile was on his face as he reprimanded the wolf, clearly happy to see her as well. Kaelon's eyes blinked as he woke up. Looking around the room, confusion emerged on his face. Last thing he remembered was fighting Cain aboard a flaming ship. It wasn't long before he voiced out.

"What happened with the fight? And who's this guy?"

Vitalion stepped forward, introducing himself again.

"My name is Vitalion, you might know me as The Immortal. As for your fight with the Sin of Wrath, it's over. He ran away after I got here, leaving you four behind."

Kaelon turned to Kane with wide eyes, who nodded as if to validate what Vitalion had said. A sigh escaped his lips and he fell back on the table. The battle played back in his head as he lay there.

Vaelora stepped forward and began speaking.

"Introductions are in order no?... The name is Vaelora Tempest, daughter of Pontus."

Fenric was next to speak up.

"My name is Fenric, this is Myrr..."

He paused for a second before adding.

  "I'm the son of Sylas"

Kaelon lifted his head, sitting instead of laying on the table.

  "I'm Kaelon, son of Altan."

The three demigods were facing each other, two with pensive expressions and one without a clue in the world. Fenric just scratched at Myrr's ears, thd wolf's tail wagging in delight.

The silence echoed until Kaelon spoke up once more.

"You know, I've been replaying that battle in my head since waking up. We were hardly a match for just one of the Sins. It took everything we had to force him to retreat, and even that would've been impossible if Vitalion hadn't shown up."

A grim atmosphere spred through the inn at his words. Kane, Fenric and Vaelora fell silent, they knew Kaelon was right. Kane turned to him and asked a counter question.

"Then what do you propose, do you have any ideas on what we can do Kaelon?"

Kaelon fell silent, contemplating her question. He didn't speak for a few minutes before an idea came to him. Cain's pirates were all enhanced by his aura, his Divinity. Couldn't they, as demigods, do the same?

"...One thing does come to mind other than just becoming stronger. Cain's pirates were enhanced by his Divinity, couldn't we do the same?"

The room fell silent at his questiom before Vitalion cut in.

"You can, theoretically. Based on the remnant Divinity left on the pirates. I can say that Cain basically took on the role of God, giving out blessings and power to his followers. I'm not entirely sure how, but that you can figure out yourselves."

The room once again fell silent, except for Fenric who had pretty much tuned out this conversation and focused on playing with Myrr. Kaelon was contemplating Vitalion's explanation, ideas running through his mind.

Vaelora sat on a table opposite Kaelon, her eye focused on him. Altan's son seemed to have a good idea of what was going on. All she knew was that the Wrath pirates were backed by some cult. As for details about this cult and their power, she was clueless. The battle had opened her eyes to the scale of the conflict she found herself in the middle of.

If wasn't long before she voiced out her questions.

"Let's take a step back for a second. How strong is this cult that backed the Wrath pirates? What are we facing here?"

Kaelon turned to both her and Fenric, who both wore confused expressions. Fenric just completely lost, and Vaelora with reasonable questioning.

"Our enemy is the Sin Congregation, a cult led by seven demigods with profane power. It's unconfirmed, but we think they have an oracle as well. They seemed to know about me even before I fully awakened my Divinity."

Taking out a piece of paper from his pocket. He showed them his poorly drawn copy of the jumbled Divinity representing the Seven Sins. Holding it up he showed it to everyone present.

"We first encountered them in Vinhal, they caused a monster wave that ravaged the city and its surrounding territories a few months ago. Since then I've suspected that they have deep ties to the underworld. In fact, a new drug suddenly appeared in the slums of Altium recently. It's called ambrosia, every person I've captured or killed in possession of it says the same thing. 'It's a drug that belongs to the Gods'"

Vitalion visibly perked up at his last words. Reacing back into his pocket, Kaelon took out a pipe before offering it to The Immortal.

"This is a sample I took from a dealer I apprehended. Could you take a look at it Vitalion? I'm sure you will have more insights than we have had?"

Vitalion reached for the pipe, it still had a small amount of ambrosia inside. Taking a whiff he wafted the drug into his nostrils. It was something he hadn't encountered before, never in his centuries of life had he seen ambrosia. He was silent for a while before speaking up.

"...It has some similarities to tobacco, but it's much more powerful. I'll need time to get a more in depth analysis of it's affects and consequences of using it."

He tucked away the pipe before turning back to the demigods. Slowly standing he looked them in their eyes as he spoke.

"I suggest you all do everything possible to become stronger. If you're already struggling to keep up, the future will be grim for us all."

Turning away from them he left the inn. At the door he turned back once more.

"The rest of your treatment can be handled by my Healers. I'll tell them to see to you before leaving the city."
