Chapter 01 — Interview (Part 6)

  Silence lingered after her revelation.

  Yudoson didn’t react immediately.

His eyes stayed on her for a few seconds longer, as if weighing whether anything she said could still surprise him.

  Then he moved.

  Slowly.

He reached inside his coat and pulled out a small notebook.

The motion alone made Sugus’ smile grow.

  Interesting.

He placed it on the table.

A phone followed, set beside it.

  The screen lit up.

  A timer started counting.

  00:00.

  Sugus raised an eyebrow.

  “…Seriously?”

  Yudoson ignored the tone.

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

He clicked a pen and began writing.

“You’re responsible for idealizing strip clubs too?” he asked flatly. “Or are there other agents involved besides you?”

  The question sounded clinical.

  Almost academic.

As if he were interviewing a witness instead of a supernatural being who once shared his bed.

  Sugus watched him carefully.

  Amusement flickered across her eyes.

He didn’t look at her while speaking.

“Because I believe today will be our first session,” he continued calmly, writing as he spoke.

The scratching sound of the pen filled the room.

“There may be others after this.”

  He turned a page.

  Still taking notes.

Recording everything he had understood so far.

  Every word.

  Every reaction.

As if organizing chaos into something measurable.

Sugus leaned forward slightly, resting her chin on her hand.

For the first time since the conversation began…

  she looked genuinely intrigued.

“You’re interviewing me now?” she asked softly.

  A faint laugh escaped her.

  “That’s new.”

Her gaze lingered on him longer than before.

  Not mocking.

  Not seductive.

  Something closer to fascination.

“…You used to look at me like you wanted answers,” she murmured.

  A small pause.

“Now you look like you want control.”

  The timer kept running.

  00:47.

Yudoson finally lifted his eyes toward her again.

  Calm.

  Cold.

  Focused.

And somehow closer to her than he had been the entire night.
