Chapter 24 : A Rescue

Death was truly about to come for the three of them. Jyu, careless because he was worried about Kuma, didn’t realize that there was still an enemy behind him. Without any warning, the kingkong monster attacked, a kick nding right on his ribs. Jyu was thrown back, crashing through the line of trees at the edge of the beach.

Meanwhile, the powerless Kuma was about to receive another attack. This time, a ser beam was ready to be fired, set to blow apart the teddy bear doll's tiny body.

A rescue finally arrived. Master Jenna, who had only been watching until now, suddenly moved at full speed. With lightning-like swiftness, in the blink of an eye, she was already beside the monster. Her fist smmed into its head until it shattered. One monster dead!

Now, only the King Kong monster remained. Seeing Master Jenna’s presence, it became furious. But that anger did not st long, as the monster died within seconds. Master Jenna picked up Jyu’s bck sword that y on the ground. In a matter of seconds she successfully severed the monster’s head. The battle was over!

“Fufufufu, it’s been a long time since I fought this seriously,” she said cheerfully.

  “Jyu, are you dead already?”

While holding back the pain in his body, Jyu finally got up. He walked out of the trees with staggering steps.

“You were trying to kill us, weren’t you?” Jyu said irritably.

Master Jenna only ughed when she heard her student’s anger. “But this training made your strength increase drastically, didn’t it? Don’t you realize it?”

Those words made Jyu freeze, instantly realizing that he truly felt his power had risen drastically. One of them was his fighting speed; it was proven when he managed to ssh the King Kong monster’s tongue and deflect the ser beam. Not to mention the evolution of his demon’s power, Kuma.

  Hurriedly, Jyu summoned his rune.

  Name: Jyu

  Age: 19

  Rank: Awakened

  Soul Power: Awakened

  Soul Fragments: 25/1000

  Memory: Bck sword

  ---

  [Demon]

  Name: Kuma

  Master: Jyu

  Rank: Supreme

  Demon Fragments: 125/1000

  Aspect: Teddy Bear

  Abilities:

Imagination Scrambler: The ability to paralyze the imagination and emotions of nearby creatures.

Strongest Hand: A punch with the strength of a giant, capable of destroying a mountain in a single blow. However, it can be used only once every 5 minutes.

Weakness: The power of imagination can open portals between dimensions.

When he saw this rune, Jyu’s eyes truly sparkled. It was clear that both his strength and Kuma’s had increased, though not by much. Like it or not, it meant Master Jenna's training was effective in making him stronger.

“Hey, don’t just stand there daydreaming, come help me treat Sizhi,” Master Jenna said, slightly annoyed because Jyu was standing stiffly.

  ---

When night fell, the air grew colder, the wind blowing hard. The beach atmosphere became quiet and tense, especially for Jyu and his friends, who could see mystical creatures directly.

Right in front of them, especially in the sea area, it was clearly visible that thousands of mystical creatures were trapped. They fought, devoured one another, and tried to escape. Of course, it was useless!

The longer Jyu looked, the more frightened he became. That was why he chose instead to stare at the bonfire bzing brightly like the sun. The fmes kept roaring, devouring every piece of wood avaible.

Meanwhile, inside the hut, Sizhi was fast asleep after receiving treatment from Master Jenna. The middle-aged woman sat rexed beside Jyu while puffing on her cigarette.

“Master, why did you give such extreme training to Sizhi and me?” Jyu asked.

“Sssshh.” Master Jenna remained silent, only exhaling cigarette smoke from her mouth.

“At the academy, only the two of you are weak. You must become strong immediately, no matter how,” Master Jenna answered casually.

Jyu was not satisfied with that answer. “If I train at the academy, I’ll become strong too.”

“Fufufufu, what a smart question. It’s just instinct, I feel something bad will happen soon.”

Jyu could only stare at his teacher’s face with a curious gaze.

“Don’t look at me like that, I don’t know what that bad thing is either. It’s just instinct, fufufufu!”

For a moment, the atmosphere fell silent, no more conversation. But Jyu was still curious, especially about the prison of mystical creatures in front of him.

“Why did the DV Army choose this pce as their prison?”

“There’s no special reason, just because, randomly chosen without consideration, fufufufu,” Master Jenna replied casually.

Of course, that answer made Jyu shudder slightly. It was as if he were talking to an absurd person who spoke carelessly.

“Then who created this prison?” Jyu asked again.

“I did!” Master Jenna answered firmly.

Jyu began to think, his teacher was not an ordinary soldier. Looking back on what she had done, Master Jenna seemed either the strongest or the most influential person in the DV Army. She might even be the highest leader. Unfortunately, in the DV Army itself, there was no such structure. The highest leadership was held by four people, including Master Jenna and Master Felix.

But Jyu thought he was quite lucky. Being trained by someone as great as her was a blessing. Indeed, the training she gave was extreme, but the results were truly real. Just by fighting for a few minutes, his abilities had already developed.

“Master, did you previously have a student whom you personally trained like me?” Jyu asked curiously.

“Yes! He has now become the leader in District Seven. Compared to you, he was a special student. He was strong, and his demon was truly terrifying,” Master Jenna answered while gncing at Jyu.

Jyu felt less willing than that student. “I will become stronger than him!”

  “Fufufufu, really?”

“Yes! As long as you give me the same training as your beloved student.”

Master Jenna was quite surprised by Jyu’s words, but after that she burst into loud ughter.

“I really like your mentality, young man. Alright! I’ve decided what training suits you next.”

“What?” Jyu asked, curious and slightly afraid, because so far the training given by Master Jenna had been truly harsh.

“My previous student had courage that I thought was unreasonable. He was reckless, like you, but every step he took was always based on strategy. That’s why he rarely lost in every battle. And what made me most proud was that he boldly entered that prison and beat every mystical creature inside.”

The st sentence spoken by Master Jenna was like lightning striking. Jyu was truly left gaping, unable to believe that her student had such courage.

“That’s why, how about we enter that prison and beat them up?” Master Jenna said enthusiastically as if she were about to go to an amusement ride that delighted her heart. Truly different from Jyu, who, upon hearing it, immediately felt weak, his body suddenly unwilling to move.

“Being too confident and arrogant is indeed not good.” Those words kept echoing in his mind. Jyu regretted having challenged his teacher earlier.
