Ch 75: The Ghozi Favour

When the next day rolls around Yorun is led to a room set up for meeting the emissaries properly, when he walks in he sees the long table with little magical plaques with the names of the people who'll sit at the seats the plaques are in front of while the rest of the room has decent decorations the place is still a fortress first as opposed to an embassy. Yorun sits down at his chair before the emissaries from the previous day come in and sit down.

"Alright there will be a lot to discuss with all of you and a lot going on specifically when it comes to each of your nations particular interests so it will go as such, today I will primarily deal with Peaceful Winds, his people seemingly will be the easiest to talk to and as such sort out relations with given my chosen status. After that when next available if not within the same day Ruukam we will speak, your people are understandably apprehensive but I hold no ill will to the Giants and would like to make sure that is known. As for you Yanikast and Dyre you two will be last given you two and your nations are working together and are primarily here for materials from Ghairlakriars corpse. Suffice to say that will be a lot of trade deal negotiations and all of us need time to prepare that. That sound fair to everyone?" Yorun asked

"Very much so" Peaceful Winds said

  "It is acceptable" Ruukam said

"We are in agreement" Yanikast and Dyre said at the same time

"Good, for now the rest of you can leave then. Peaceful Winds and I have thing to discuss" Yorun said

The other three emissaries take their leave with only Yorun and the Ghozi emissary left behind.

"You are very direct in these matters Chosen of Eireka or as you humans call them, Raeknar" Peaceful Winds said

"I suppose it's no surprise that one from a nation known for its religious nature would know that there is one pantheon alone" Yorun said

"Correct, we have long treated with the chosen themselves not their home nations and as such we have remained untouchable as well as kept the knowledge of the singular pantheon given we speak with chosen from everywhere in the lands plus we never forget anything the gods have told us" Peaceful Winds said

"So, fostering good relations, how do we do that hm? What was the plan when you came here?" Yorun asked genuinely curious

"Well we I would ask that you come visit our nations capital city, meet our leader and then given all that we do in service of the gods we could call in some favour or favours of our own for you. Whatever you wish, all that we'd want in return is a good relationship with you and possibly defending us if it were so required, your conflict has killed a few chosen after all including some big ones and as such we have less very powerful chosen allies" Peaceful Winds said

"Whatever I wish? I know there is much that could be done with such favours but some are fairly costly, my own quest is to use such favours of my own" Yorun said

"Not pure justice for the sake of it then?" Peaceful Winds asked cautiously curious

"You Ghozi don't share information of one chosen to others even at their request do you?" Yorun asked

"No we do not, we stay neutral between the chosen and as such the gods, we have our own desires and changes for the world to be done however angering one god to please another will lead to worse outcomes, we can only do our best to please sate all of them and by now they've realised how much we care to serve them" Peaceful Winds

"You can trust the Ghozi Yorun, we gods have an agreement when it comes to them, no Ghozi shall be a chosen so long as they work under all the gods equally" Raeknar said within Yoruns mind

"I bring justice to the Fiernian Empire yes but specifically for those currently dead" Yorun said before going on to explain his past to the Ghozi emissary and his reasoning for being a chosen on this war path

"Asking to bring your family back would be possible but the rest of the village as well less so, it'd leave us majorly indebted to Eireka however we shall be able to do other things, we could ask for temporary passage to the afterlife for you or to add to your power in some way for example" Peaceful winds said slightly regretting his previous words of whatever Yorun wished

"We shall see" Yorun said as he stood

"Does that mean we are going?" Peaceful winds

"Yes but first" Yorun said cutting himself off as he called Golanier to his side

"What is it Yorun?" Golanier asked

"Given what Helimiral told me yesterday his brother is coming after us and unlike the previous one he will be smarter about it, our forces are strong and numerous already yet I want my magic and forces to grow so get undead mages on undead creation duty" Yorun said as he sent most of his magic to the undead mages within the fortress

"Fair enough" Golanier said before leaving then Yorun turned to Peaceful Winds once more

"Alright then, now we can leave" Yorun said

Within moments Peaceful Winds teleported them both across the world and into the sky where a large city floats. The city is calm, the architecture different to the last floating city Yorun had been too and yet there was parts of it so similar, however Yorun also sees statues around the city everywhere he looks different gods, different looks for each god.

"What is the name of this city?" Yorun asked

"We call it Rialinakin which in your tongue would be 'God's Rest'" Peaceful winds said as he floated next to Yorun via his wings

"Lets go see your leader" Yorun said

Peaceful winds flies ahead towards a larger building in the distance, Yorun follows closely behind while still looking around, every single Ghozi seems to know who and what he is giving some respectful gesture as he flies by with Peaceful Winds, it is a strange feeling for Yorun to be so known by a people he didn't even know of before the previous day. Yorun and Peaceful Winds land in front of a large ornately decorated white building it seems both a place of governmental power and worship for the gods, Yorun recognises some architecture once again as he heads into the building with Peaceful winds, inside the building is a giant temple bigger on the inside than out like the Qur'Anther Archives but rather than endless books containing knowledge of many matters there is statues of the gods, several books and items around each of them relating to them and a statue of their current chosen next to them with Raeknar's statue having a yet to be made statue next to it. At the back of the temple however there is a larger Ghozi with their wings outstretched, head looking down and eyes closed yet standing still with a gold adorned robe and jewels hanging off his wings yet Yorun can feel magic that'd keep them there even if his wings were to move.

"I take it that's your leader?" Yorun asked

"Correct, that is the The Venerable Speaker and that is her name" Peaceful Winds said

Yorun walked forward through the middle of the building past several pews and statues until he stands before the larger Ghozi, The Venerable Speaker opens her eyes and looks at Yorun.

"Hello Chosen of Eireka or I suppose I should say Raeknar, we tend to use the gods name their chosen would use. We are honoured by your visit to us this fine day" The Venerable Speaker said with an unnaturally calm tone and aura

Yorun feels the large Ghozi's eyes trail over his body before reaching out to the yet to be made Chosen statue next to Raeknars and the block of stone begins to morph into the form of Yorun in such a finely crafted way Yorun can see the texture of his burns upon the statue while the details of the draconic armour he wears is just as well done.

"Impressive work" Yorun said as he turned back to The Venerable Speaker

"Thank you, your words do me too much honour. With you coming here we hope to have this day be a good one where we ally ourselves with yet another chosen one of good heart and mission" The Venerable Speaker said

"Then tell me, using the favours that your service to the gods has given, I wish for one thing for Raeknar to change one aspect of my magic and the souls of my family" Yorun said with The Venerable Speakers confusion written of her face

"What exactly is it you want done?" The Venerable Speaker asked

"I hope to win this war and I am confident I can given all that has happened up to now but after? I will live past my wifes death and chances are I will live past my children's too. I will not do that again, so I want them all to have access to magic including the necromancy I have and as for my magics change I want for a necromancer to be able to transfer the undead they have to another necromancer even after death so that when my own time comes no one suffers the fate of the Kai Tamar" Yorun said with the name Kai Tamar seemingly recognised by The Venerable Speaker

"We will do it, this is more than a surprising request given all that you could ask for from any god barring a few exceptions yet it is a logical and heartfelt one I would be honoured to help fulfil" The Venerable Speaker said happily

Within moments several similarly robed Ghozi appear from different rooms and surround the statue of Raeknar who before kneeling and outstretching their wings and saying something that Yorun cannot understand. Yet he hears The Venerable Speaker begin talking in a way he can understand.

"Raeknar, God of Death, creator of the afterlife and ruler of all souls therein, Raeknar God of Justice, defender of the meek and the one to set this world straight we come before you and ask you to appear to give boons to your chosen and his family so that he can continue the mission assigned to him by your godly self. Please hear our words and give this gift at our Ghozi's price" The Venerable Speaker said

Within moments the statue of Raeknars eyes turns black before Raeknar steps forward from one part of Reality into this one, the Ghozi all kneel and bow before them as Raeknar then looks to them in return.

"You do my chosen a service, you continue your good work Ghozi" Raeknar said before looking to Yorun

"You heard what I wish Raeknar, I wouldn't use the Ghozi to bring back so many people but this? This I can ask" Yorun said

"And so it shall be, well done Yorun" Raeknar said

Raeknar then reaches out and grasps Yoruns soul, Yoruns eyes roll back as this happens before turning green, Raeknar does the requested change to Yoruns magic before letting go. Yorun could feel the otherworldly figure within his soul changing it, changing part of the magic within it and it is not a feeling he will soon forget as his eyes return to normal.

"Now for your family, Ghozi my chosen will come to your aid if needed, consider your relations well founded" Raeknar said

Yorun and the Ghozi watch as Raeknar then steps back through reality disappearing from it as the god appears in Artiel just as they had appeared elsewhere before, Raeknar appears next to the Kurinet villagers souls whom wonder if it is finally time to bring them back to life.

"I am not here to revive you all yet, the war continues however I am here for Yoruns family, Yorun has requested a boon for them for when they live again" Raeknar said

Lina, Rayne and Jaynle walk to Raeknar confused.

"What has my husband asked?" Lina asked

"He does not wish to live past you all again nor does he want what happened to Jinarls people to happen again either so" Raeknar said before pointing to the three of them, their souls fill with a green and blackened energy not painful for them in the slightest just a strange warm feeling

  "What is this?" Rayne asked

"Magic, you will have all the normal magics a mortal can have as well as the necromancy Yorun possesses, you will live longer once it is trained so I suggest finding a teacher here in Artiel while you can" Raeknar said

"Can you thank father for us?" Jaynle asked

"You've spoken with him once, I do believe you can again" Raeknar said before disappearing

Yorun stands within the grand temple and looks to The Venerable Speaker.

"I cannot thank you enough" Yorun said

"It was a pleasure to help you especially in a way I had not anticipated" The Venerable Speaker said before bowing her head

"I believe our time today has come to an end then, as Raeknar said, well founded the relations between Ghozi and I are" Yorun said

Yorun looked over to Peaceful winds who teleported them both back to the fortress where Yorun went to rest for the time being due to the changes of his soul still being felt all the while his wife, son and daughter begin to train with their newly acquired magic in Artiel with several masters to pass the time. Their future when they live seems longer and brighter than they could have ever expected...
