Untold Truths

June shivered awake as a cold draft swept over him, causing him to flinch and curl deeper into his blanket, which seemed to lose its warmth. He sat up, tugging the cover tighter around himself, and reached out into the darkness in search of Nakita, who was nowhere to be found. Realizing she had left the bed, June crawled to his feet to find her. Noticing the doors leading to the balcony were left ajar he cautiously made his way to the door, wrapping the blanket around himself tighter as he approached. He spotted a few stray snowflakes drifting through the gap.

With a gentle grip, he pulled one of the doors, sliding it over the carpet to open it. As he revealed the scene outside, he saw his wife leaning against the railing, her robe draped over her shoulders, a lit cigarette in hand, as she savored the snowfall. June was captivated by Nakita’s enchanting beauty. He began to announce himself but hesitated, not wanting to disrupt the serene atmosphere. Instead, he stood there for a moment, taking in the sight of her.

The soft glow of the house lights reflected from the snow below illuminating her figure. The world felt hushed, as if the falling snow had wrapped everything in a blanket of silence, as the snowflakes danced around her like tiny stars. Nakita seemed lost in her own thoughts, her gaze fixed on the darkened sky as the smoke from her cigarette curled upward, mingling with the cold air. June’s heart swelled with affection as he watched her, the way the light caught her blonde hair, making it shimmer like silver. He took a tentative step forward, the creak from the floor board beneath the carpet broke the silence.

Nakita spun around, her eyes wide with a blend of surprise and guilt as she hastily concealed the cigarette behind her robe. “June?” she asked, her voice tinged with panic. “What are you doing up?”

June moved closer to the balcony, a hint of a smile breaking through his quiet demeanor. “Sorry,” he whispered, “I woke up because it was chilly and noticed you weren’t in bed… I didn’t mean to scare you.”

Nakita let out a sigh. “It’s okay, June… I’ll be back inside in a minute.”

June pointed to the hand she had hidden behind her back. “What are you holding?” he inquired.

“Oh, um, it’s…my cigarette…” Nakita admitted, her voice shaky.

“You smoke?” June asked, tilting his head in curiosity.

“Y-yeah,” she replied, avoiding his gaze, “…we both do…”

“I do?” June asked, looking puzzled. Nakita nodded quickly, then turned away to take a slow drag from her cigarette. June stepped out onto the balcony, standing next her in the cold night air. He shivered as the cold creeped up his leg. “I never realized.”

She glanced back at him, her mouth covered by her hand as she pinched the cigarette between two fingers. Pulling her hand away from her face, it slowly slid across the frigid railing and landed on top of June's hand. “Does it bother you?” she asked, as she gently drew a circle on the back of his hand.

June thought for a moment before turning to her, saying, “No. I don't think so.”

“Good.” She exclaimed, taking one last puff before throwing the cigarette into the snow below. She grasped the cover draped over June's shoulders, pulling him closer as the snow flakes gently fell around them. “Let's go back to bed.” She said as she turned June towards the door and walked back inside with him. June climbed into bed, eagerly waiting for Nakita to join him, his excitement was evident. As she closed the balcony doors she turned to glance at him, her familiar smile appearing on her face before the door shut completely and she disappeared in the darkness of the room.

He felt the bed move as Nakita came closer. As he struggled to see in the low light, a cold hand grazed his thigh. He flinched, quickly pulling his leg away from the unexpected touch. Nakita let out a soft chuckle before slipping beneath the sheets and snuggling against June. Before June could respond, she encircled him with her arms, bringing him in closer, their legs soon becoming entwined.

Even without seeing her, he could tell she was looking down at him. A subdued burst of laughter broke the silence as they both attempted to suppress it

"...you're a bit cold, Kita..." June murmured softly, fidgeting slightly.

"I know... you're helping me warm up," Nakita replied, drawing him in closer. June awkwardly wrapped his arm around her waist before carefully positioning his hand on her butt. Nakita gasped lightly, tightening her grip around June.

"Sorry..." June stammered, sliding his hand back to her waist. Nikita took hold of his hand and guided it back to her backside.

"It's okay... you just caught me off guard, that's all," she whispered to June. With her other hand, she began to gently run her fingers through June's hair as they lingered silently in the dark for a brief moment.

  "Hey Kita?" June whispered.

"Yes моя любовь(my love)?" Nakita replied, stifling a yawn.

"What was I like...before the accident?" June inquired, his tone filled with curiosity.

"Hmm..." Nakita mused, gently running her fingers through the back of June's hair, "you were such a sweetheart...always kind and considerate,"

"Really?" June's head turned slightly as he attempted to catch her gaze.

"Absolutely, you were always there to help me with chores and listen about my day," Nakita continued, her other hand tracing soft patterns on his back. "You always made time for me...you often said I was your favorite person to be with." She felt June's head lower as he nestled against her chest. "You were also quite the romantic...always surprising me with flowers or spontaneous dinner dates..." Nakita yawned widely, battling her sleepiness. "When you came home, we would spend hours just talking…”

"Wow...." June said softly, a smile spreading across his face.

"Yeah... I'm lucky to have you, моя любовь (my love). I love you," she murmured before gently planting a kiss on his head and falling asleep. June held Nakita close as he too started to drift off into slumber.

Just as the afternoon was about to begin, June suddenly stirred awake. After a short moment, he started to wipe the sleep from his eyes. Glancing up, he felt Nakita softly stroking his head and realized that his head was resting on her abdomen.

“Morning соня” (sleepyhead), Nakita said gently while she affectionately caressed June's cheek. Before he had the chance to respond, he felt her lean in and plant a soft kiss on him. June's momentary surprise disappeared as their lips met. “How did you sleep last night?”

“I was...comfortable,” June replied, a hint of a smirk on his lips.

“I can imagine,” Nakita remarked playfully, tenderly wrapping her arms around his head. “How does your head feel? I'm not holding you too tightly, am I?

"No. Not at all..." June responds, her arm cradling his head against her bicep. Nakita chuckled softly before reclining her head back and letting out a sigh. "Hm?"

"It's nothing, June... just lay here with me for a bit..." she murmured.

"Oh... alright," June replied softly, closing his eyes and allowing his neck to relax. They both lay in silence for a time, savoring the peacefulness of the morning. Their tranquility was abruptly interrupted when Nakita’s phone began to buzz.

June glanced over but felt Nakita pulling his head back. “Just ignore it, June…it's likely just work…” she murmured. June nodded and closed his eyes again. The buzzing persisted for a while before it stopped, only to start buzzing again only a few seconds later.

“God damnit,” Nakita cursed, her voice irritated and her eyes narrowed. She swung her arm out forcefully to grab her phone, inadvertently pushing and pulling June in the process. “Why am I not surprised?” she exclaimed as she brought the phone up to her face. June sat up, looking back at her with concern, but he hesitated to ask who was on the line, not wanting to irritate her further.

As she picked up the phone, she adjusted her tone to a soft, raspy morning sound, saying, "Hello?"

"Why didn’t you have June call me last night?" Tian asked, his tone laced with concern.

"Well, good morning to you too..." Nakita replied with a sigh.

"Don’t dodge the question, Naki," Tian responded instantly, his voice taking on a more serious note. "I specifically told you to have him call me! I’ve been worried sick, and every time I try to reach him, his phone goes straight to voicemail.”

"Just take a breath... he’s okay..." Nakita said soothingly, her arm gently encircling June's chest as she pulled him closer, and resting her head on his. "I stayed up late last night and forgot to charge his phone.”

"I need to speak with him, put him on the line," Tian insisted.

"I can't at the moment..." Nakita glanced down at June, who was unaware of their discussion.

"Why not?" Tian shot back immediately.

"He's still asleep...?" Nakita tried to reply quietly, prompting June to look up at her. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure I heard him snoring... Do you want me to wake him up now?"

Tian sighed, "Whatever, Naki. The rest of us are coming over for a visit; I'll talk to him then.

"Woah," Nakita exclaimed, "You just dropped this on me now? What's with the sudden visit?”

"Whats the big deal?” Tian asked.

"My house isn't clean..." she responded, feeling frustrated; this conversation was only heightening her anxiety. "Nor is my husband..." she thought to herself while biting her lip.

"Hello? Nakita?" Tian's voice echoed from the phone.

Nakita shook her head before replying, "Oh, sorry, what did you say?"

"We've seen your place in chaos before; we'll be there soon," Tian assured her.

"But-" Nakita started, but Tian had already disconnected the call. "Alright... see you shortly," she said, setting the phone down. She groaned and pulled June close, giving him a soft squeeze as she sighed.

"Who was that, Kita?" June asked.

"Your brother... he said he and our friends are coming over... apparently," Nakita replied, rolling her eyes.

"Oh,that's great! I can't wait to see everyone," June said, his excitement evident.

"Uh-huh... come on, we need to get ready before they arrive," Nakita urged, releasing June and starting to climb out of bed. June swung his feet over the edge, preparing to stand, but was taken by surprise when Nakita started to slip off her gown. He watched as the loose fabric glided down her legs and elegantly pooled on the floor. His gaze slowly traveled upward until it met Nakita's, who was looking back at him. He felt a rush of heat on his face and quickly looked away.

Nakita approached him with a teasing smile on her face. "What have I told you before..." she said, pulling his head to face her, "you don’t have to shy away from me." June nodded, and Nakita then helped him to his feet. She scanned him from head to toe, her hand softly moving down to his boxers and giving them a gentle tug. June instinctively covered himself, but Nakita took his hand and started leading him toward the bathroom. As they entered, the cold tile floor made June shiver, while she reached for towels from the cabinet beside the shower.

Taking a brief glance at his reflection in the mirror, he notices the small scar on the side of his head before his eyes move to Nakita, who is bending down to turn on the hot water. The sharp click of the faucet makes June flinch, and then the shower comes to life. In the mirror's reflection, he sees Nakita signaling for him to come over to the tub. With some hesitation, June steps in first, letting out a sigh of relief as the warm water streams down his back. Just as he begins to get comfortable, Nakita steps in next to him and closes the shower curtain.

June took a step back, pressing his back against the cold wall as he attempted to put some space between himself and Nakita. She turned around slowly, her imposing figure looming over him, and the cramped surroundings only amplified her size. Feeling small and vulnerable, June instinctively hunched his shoulders, trying to make himself appear smaller under her watchful gaze. Nakita looked down at him with a warm smile that contrasted sharply with the tension in the air. "Could you please get that soap for me?" she asked in a gentle tone, her request almost disarming.

As June continued to gaze at Nakita, he reached up to find the soap, finally managing to grab it. "H..here, Kita..."

"Thank you," she responded, squirting some into her palm before turning around. June swiftly applied some to his own hands and started to wash himself. Nakita looked back at him, asking, "Could you help with my back?"

"Uhh...of course, Kita!" June replied, quickly lathering his hands. He carefully massaged her shoulder blades and neck, gradually working his way down.

"Don't forget here, June," Nakita said, swiftly guiding his hands lower. She wrapped his hands around her backside and pulled him in close, creating a wet smack sound. "And here," she instructed, placing his hands on her chest and moving them back and forth. June, too astonished to respond, simply smiled with joy as Nakita directed his hands. She arched her back, pressing her butt against June, feeling his hardness pressed against her, she shifted allowing his member to slip between her soapy thighs.

June's hands roamed as he struggled to keep his balance and grip, but every slippery movement elicited a moan from Nakita. Her hands gradually released June's and found their place against the shower wall, pushing herself back against him. With the wet slapping sounds and her moans growing louder, June sensed he was nearing his limit. Noticing his pace slowing, Nakita began to slam her butt against him, causing him to climax between her thighs.

Nakita straightened up, allowing the water to cascade over her. She slowly turned around and drew June into a passionate kiss. He held her close as the warm water flowed over their skin.

"We should probably hurry up…" Nakita murmured, yet she remained still.

"Yeah…" June responded, "sorry for getting you dirty again…"

Nakita chuckled, "that's alright… I got you dirty too." She said as she reached for the soap behind June and started pouring it over both of them. As she scrubbed him, he began to flinch and twitch with every touch, especially as her hands moved lower. June let out an unexpected moan before clinging to Nakita. "You're still really sensitive after that, huh?" she asked rhetorically, but June nodded in agreement. "Come on, I'm almost finished." She said softly as she guided him under the shower head. As she rinsed the soap from June's hair, a strange yet familiar sensation washed over him; the inability to see Nakita filled him with dread as he was compelled to look down while she hummed softly.

June struggled to resist the urge to pull away until he felt Nakita release his head, "all done." She chimed cheerfully, swiftly turning off the water. Shaking the excess water from her hair, some droplets splashed back onto June. Pulling the shower curtain open, June shielded himself from the cold, but Nakita stepped out unbothered. She picked up her towels and began to dry herself. Approaching June with a second towel, she gently wiped him off, starting briskly but slowing down as she dabbed his chest dry, her head tilting to the side with a growing grin.

"Um…Kita?" June said softly, as Nakita continued to paw at his chest. "Kita, I believe I can dry myself," June declared, gently taking her hand. She looked up at him, somewhat surprised.

"Oh….sorry June…" Nakita responded, retracting her hand. She held onto his towel, saying, "it's just…you used to enjoy it when I did that." She offered a half-hearted smile.

"Oh…um, it's just that the others are going to be here soon and-"

"No, I understand. Come on, let's dry off and get dressed before you catch a cold…we don’t want you being sent back to the hospital, now do we?" Nakita said flatly, finishing with a hollow chuckle. June joined in the laughter, though his was laced with nervousness. As he stepped out of the tub, June walked past Nakita towards the door, while he couldn't quite make it out, Nakita seemed to have the same scowl as before. Nakita followed June out of the bathroom and headed to her dresser, where she laid out her outfit for the day and quickly began to get dressed.

"Where are my clothes?" June inquired as she scanned the room.

"Um, some are in that drawer; I'll get you something to wear," she replied, quickly pulling her panties up. She stepped past him into her closet and began searching. Meanwhile, June approached the drawer on his side of the bed, rummaging through it and pulling out some underwear and an undershirt. Tossing his towel aside, he started to get dressed. Nakita walked over with the clothes and stood quietly, observing him as pulled up his briefs and donned his undershirt. She moved beside him and placed the clothes down. "Here you go, I just washed them not long ago."

"Thank you, Kita," June said, smiling. Nakita smiled back, she rubbed his shoulder tenderly before continuing to dress. June picked up the shirt and pants to inspect them, it was a quarter zip and a pair of dark jeans. After putting on the outfit, he checked himself in the mirror, while nodding in approval. Sitting on the edge of the bed, he adjusted the zipper. When he looked up, Nakita was now dressed and standing in front of him. She leaned forward, placing her hands on either side of June's legs. June leaned back a bit as she moved her head closer to his.

"June..." she called out in a loving tone

"Yeah, Kita?" June responded, leaning in closer to Nakita.

"Before we head downstairs, there's something I need to tell you..." Nakita said.

"Oh? Of course, what is it?" June inquired, a blush creeping onto his cheeks.

"When your brother arrives...if he asks, just tell him you slept on the couch last night," Nakita said, her smile fading as she finished her sentence.

  June raised an eyebrow, "Why?"

"Your brother is quite nosy and is already looking for a fight...I can hear it in his tone," Nakita said, rolling her eyes as she glanced away. June looked at her, puzzled. Nakita gently took his hand, "Look we will discuss it more later. Just keep quiet for me, alright?"

"O...Okay, Kita," June replied, averting his gaze.

"Thank you, June," Nakita whispers, playfully nibbling on his ear. "Now come on... let's tidy up downstairs before our guests arrive." With that, Nakita spun around and headed for the door. June's smile faded as he stood up to follow her.

They busied themselves cleaning the living room. June set the pillows back on the couch while Nakita moved around, searching for any areas that needed dusting. Occasionally, Nakita stole glances at June, admiring him as he fluffed the pillows. The sound of the doorbell interrupted their brief cleaning. "Finally," Nakita muttered, turning to June. "I'll get the door; you stay here.”

June nodded and placed the pillow down before settling beside it. Nakita smiled and then turned to walk towards the front door. She took one last look at her reflection in the mirror when a loud knock broke the silence. "You don't have to bang on the door like a savage," she shouted as she began unlocking the numerous locks. With a final click, the door swung open to reveal Adam, Anya, Edith, and Tian all clustered together at the entrance.

Before Nakita could finish saying hello, her friends rushed in, brushing past her to greet June. "Great to see you all too..." Nakita sighed. She glanced back to find Tian still standing there with his arms crossed. Nakita rolled her eyes, "Is there something you want to say, Tian?”

Tian enters the house and unfolds his arms, stating, "Quite a bit, but I'll be brief." He relaxes his clenched fist and goes on, "Why did it take you so long to let us see June?"

"What part of 'he is recovering' don't you understand? I don’t want a bunch of people crowding around him and overwhelming him," Nakita responds calmly, but shoots him a glare.

"A bunch of people? His brother and a couple of friends wanted to check on him after his injury… What's the issue with that? Besides, he doesn’t look overwhelmed to me," Tian remarks, pointing towards the couch. Nakita looked over and noticed the others gathered around June, chatting with him as he listened with a grin. "Next question, why is June's phone still turned off? I gave you his tool belt ages ago."

Nakita sighs and heads into the kitchen, with Tian trailing behind her. "I have no idea where his phone charger is; my attention has been on him.”

Tian raised an eyebrow, his disbelief evident as he asked, "Don't you both have the same type of phone?”

"What difference does it make!?" Nakita exclaimed, her voice rising before she quickly lowered it. "Why are you so distrustful of me!?”

Tian paused, contemplating his response. "I never said I didn't trust you…”

"No, but your actions imply otherwise," she shot back. "Even before this whole situation with June, you've always had concerns about how I deal with your brother. Why is that?”

"When you stop being so secretive about him, I will be more inclined to trust you," Tian responded coldly.

As they glared, Anya enters and taps on the counter to catch their attention. They both turn to see Anya. "What are you two fighting about?"

"We weren't fighting," Nakita replies, still glaring at Tian.

"That’s not how it sounded from the other room…come on, June is asking for you two," she says before leaving the room.

"We'll continue this discussion later," Nakita states icily before exiting the kitchen. Tian lets out a sigh as he heads to the living room.

June found himself in the company of his friends, engaged in lively conversation and laughter. "Oh, there was this one time..." Adam started but was cut short by Anya

"Come on, Adam, let someone else share a story with June!" Anya said while lightly tapping his shoulder.

"Alright, alright," Adam replied, chuckling and waving his hand dismissively.

"Ooh, it's my turn!" Edith exclaimed, joyfully clapping her hands. She shifted closer to June, eager to share. "I want to tell you about the day I met your brother." June grinned and leaned in, intrigued. "I was having car issues outside of Tian and your favorite pub. You came over and startled me!" They both burst into laughter. "Once we both calmed down, you mentioned that your brother was great with cars and called him like four times..."

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

"It was actually seven..." Tian interjected as he joined June and Edith. Edith quickly wrapped her arms around Tian's.

"It might have been," she said with a grin. "But after you called him, you pleaded for him to come and pick you up with his jump leads. Then you sat with me, chatting about how awesome your brother was and how he was always willing to help. When he finally arrived, we ended up talking longer than it took to fix my car. You insisted that we exchange numbers, and now... here we are." She beamed happily before planting a kiss on Tian's cheek.

June appears to be happy for them. Suddenly, he felt Nakita’s arm drape over his neck as she settled beside him, her arm now resting on his shoulder. "I’ve always enjoyed that story. Don’t you agree, June?" Nakita commented. June turned to her and nodded.

The others exchanged various looks, their expressions revealing mixed feelings. "So... Nakita, June, how have things been since you returned from the hospital?" Anya interjected, trying to change the subject.

"Well, you could say things have been fine..." Nakita replied in a somewhat flat tone.

"Everything here is wonderful," June said, beaming with pride. Nakita cast a quick, anxious glance at June before turning her attention back to the others. "Nakita has been incredibly supportive and comforting."

"...that’s nice to hear," Tian responded.

"It's wonderful to see you both getting along again," Edith remarked.

June tilted his head in confusion. "Again?"

Edith appeared taken aback. The others tensed, exchanging glances as they sought reassurance. As they all looked bewildered, Nakita shot Edith a look that sent chills down her spine. "Uh...I...I only meant that with your recent injury, we thought we wouldn't see you two so close together again so soon...yeah," Edith quickly added, taking a slow sip from her water bottle. The others nodded in agreement. Nakita's gaze sharpened, but she remained unmoved.

"Oh hey…that just reminded me," Anya exclaimed, grabbing everyone's attention. "You two participated in a couples competition a few summers back, and I remember it being a blast. I think I still have the picture," she continued, rummaging through her gallery.

"Oh yes, it was. We were walking around the fair when we stumbled upon a poster for a free dinner; you were so eager to win that for me," Nakita replied with a grin as she pulled June in for a hug. June beamed with happiness. "We had to tackle an obstacle course, but it was nothing we couldn't manage… we left the other couples in the dust," she said proudly.

June chuckled, and the others joined in with light laughter. Anya approached and showed June her phone. It displayed a photo of Nakita and June together. Nakita looked joyful, her hand resting on June's chest as she leaned into him. June appeared stiff in the picture, standing straight with a beer in one hand and the other tucked in his pocket, not smiling like Nakita was.

"Aww, could you please send me that photo, Anya? I’d love to have it framed," Nakita says with a cheerful smile.

"Of course, Naki," Anya replies before sending it to her phone.

Tian shifted in his seat, grimacing as he turned away to conceal his expression. "June," Tian suddenly said. He glanced at June, who was now leaning forward. "Do you remember when we moved here?" June shook his head in response, leaning forward with keen interest.

"After we graduated, I asked you what your plans were since I was at a loss... you wanted to explore the city... and so did I." They both laughed. "After putting in a lot of hard work, we packed up our belongings and headed out here. You were so thrilled to move. You couldn't take your eyes off the open road the entire drive... in fact, I think the only time you looked away was to crank up the music and sing along." The group chuckled together. However, Nakita's laughter seemed empty. "When we arrived at our not-so-great first apartment, it wasn't what we had envisioned, but you somehow made it feel like home." June smiled. "You always insisted on getting a plant, which ended up blocking our favorite window..."

"...were they above a radiator near the fire escape?" June asked, looking up as he tried hard to recall.

"They were!" Tian responded with joy. Edith cheered happily while clapping. "I can't believe you remember that.”

"Hey Naki, doesn't that mean June's memory could be returning?" Anya asked, her excitement palpable.

Nakita forced a smile, "it could mean many things..." she replied. "...but I'm glad you're starting to remember bits of your past." She glanced down at June and planted a kiss on his head.

June averted his gaze, feeling a blush creep in; although fleeting, that memory sparked a glimmer of hope that he might regain his past memories.

A few hours later, the discussion had tapered off, and yawns were exchanged among the group.

"Tian, I'm tired..." Edith whined, leaning her head against his shoulder.

"It is starting to get rather late," Adam replied with a yawn.

"Finally," Nakita thought to herself. June was reclining against Nakita, who had her arms wrapped around him.

"Do you really have to go so soon?" Nakita asked, feigning disappointment.

"Yeah... it's probably for the best," Anya said as she glanced at the time on her phone. "Do you mind if I grab an extra slice of pie before we head out?"

"Not at all," Nakita replied, sitting up as June slid off her lap. She stood and walked to the kitchen alongside Anya. Tian got up and took a seat next to June.

"So June..." Tian glances back at Edith and Adam, both of whom are nearly dozing off. "Is everything alright here?"

"Yeah, why wouldn't it be?" June replied, rubbing his eyes.

"No reason. Can’t a guy check in on his brother?" They both share a light laugh. "Where does she have you staying?"

"I-" June pauses before gesturing towards the couch. "I've been sleeping here."

"Oh? Really? Why not one of the guest rooms?" Tian asked.

"Um...I haven't been in them…I told Kita that I liked sleeping on the couch..." June adds.

"Well, I hope it's at least comfortable for you," Tian says, sounding relieved.

"Oh, it is. Plus, I have the TV all to myself," June smirks. Tian shakes his head with a smile.

Nakita observes from the kitchen, her face clouded with concern. "Did you hear me, sis?" Anya asked, repeating herself for a third time. Nakita glanced back and noticed Anya grasping the pie tray and a knife. "I wanted to know how much I can take."

Nakita lets out a sigh before grabbing the knife and pie to slice a piece for her. "Make sure to tell Adam to take it easy on this; it might be awhile before I whip up another one.”

"If that's the case, I'm keeping this piece for myself," Anya said with a giggle. "So, how are things? I know we were all checking in on June and how he's been feeling, but... I want to make sure you're okay."

"I appreciate that, Anya, but as I said before, I'm fine. June isn't difficult to handle, so I’m not overwhelmed. Besides, it's been...nice," Nakita replied, smiling while lost in thought.

  "Huh," Anya hummed.

"He doesn't look at me like he hates me; he's always so happy to see me now. It's just been a breath of fresh air," she said, with a soft smile while deep in thought.

"Aww..." Anya said. "I'm glad to hear that... but..."

"But what?" Nakita looked at Anya.

"Did you tell him... you know, about your... past marital issues?" Anya inquired, her phone partially obscuring her mouth.

"Sis, that's absurd. He's only been with me for a few days. I can't just spring that on him." Nakita replied, quickly dismissing the idea.

"Yeah... but you're planning to tell him eventually, right...?" Anya asked, her eyes reflecting a hint of concern. Nakita let out a sigh before turning her gaze to June and Tian, who were sharing a laugh.

Tian turns to June and says, "So June, since it seems like you're feeling much better, I thought we could hang out soon, maybe go for an outing." Tian exclaimed.

"Outing? Like what?" June asked, her voice filled with curiosity and excitement.

"Anything you want. We could hit the gym; you always enjoy the pool there. Or we could catch a movie. I think Adam mentioned a football match coming up..."

"Actually, I think I'd rather go swimming," June replied with a smile.

"Hey, it's totally up to you, June. I've got a day off tomorrow; I'll come by and pick you up. That sound good?”

June gives a nod. Tians looks at June with a warm smile before wrapping him in a heartfelt hug. "I really should take these guys back home now. Are you absolutely sure you'll be alright here?" he inquires as they gently separate from the embrace.

"Yeah, I'll be fine. Thank you Tian," June replies, beaming at his brother.

"Sure, remember I'm always just a phone call away." Tian remarks as he gives June's shoulder a reassuring pat before standing up and approaching Adam to rouse him from sleep. "It's time to go light weight," Tian states. He softly taps Edith's shoulder to signal that it's time to depart. As the others head towards the door, they exchange their final farewells and exit one by one.

After making sure they reached their car safely, Nakita closed the door and exhaled deeply. "Finally," she said in a relieved tone as she began to lock the door. She made her way to the couch and noticed June deep in thought. Suddenly, Nakita jumped onto the couch and landed beside June, causing him to jump in surprise. "Hey there," Nakita purred, "what's on your mind?" She inched closer, cuddling up to June.

"Nothing…just thinking about us…" he smiled at her.

  Nakita chuckled, "oh? Like what?"

"After Edith mentioned how she met my brother, I wondered...How did we meet?" June gazed up at her.

"I'm so glad you asked..." she responded cheerfully. "The hospital we visited a few days ago... that's my workplace... and that's where we first met."

  "Really?" June inquired.

"This isn't your first time getting hurt at work," she laughed. "We were having a hectic day when you walked in, bleeding from your arm... I had a lot of people shouting and talking in my ear all day, but a nurse informed me that a man had entered and had been sitting quietly, not causing any trouble for nearly 15 minutes while bleeding on the floor." She went on. "Since my nurses were occupied, I took a bandage from the supply closet and hurried over to tend to you... you were so pleasant..."

  June grins, "and?"

"Oh, that's it, I bandaged you up and then you left," she stated in a matter of fact tone.

  June squinted while smirking, "what?”

"It's true, but it wasn't long before returned to talk to me. You mentioned that you noticed how stressed I appeared and how tough my day had been, so you offered to take me out to dinner as a thank you for help with your arm. I said it wasn't needed, but you were persistent. I can't deny I was thrilled, though. We decided to keep seeing each other...that was about 5 years ago now." She smiles and kisses his temple.

"Best decision ever!" June proclaimed confidently, a broad smile on his face. Nakita laughed softly as she wrapped her arms around him in a warm embrace. "Oh! I forget, Tian invited me to join him at the gym tomorrow," he added, his eyes sparkling with excitement.

Nakita adjusted her position, sitting upright and looking down at him with a curious expression. "The gym? You really shouldn't be pushing yourself too hard; you have a head injury, глупый (silly)," she warned, concern evident in her voice.

"I'm just going to swim. He told me the pool there is amazing," he explained, trying to reassure her.

She leaned in closer, her hand reaching towards June. "Wouldn't you rather stay here..." Nakita's hand softly traced along June's arm, sending a delightful shiver through him, "...with me?”

"Um..." June murmured, his eyes drifting away as he hummed. Nakita moved in closer, resting her head against his shoulder and nuzzling into the warmth of his neck. "It's been awhile since I hung out with Tian..." he added, his voice trailing off.

"Uh huh," Nakita responded, seemingly uninterested in his words as she swung her leg over June's lap, playfully straddling him and teasing him with her movements.

"We won't be gone for long..." June's voice faded as Nakita began to plant soft kisses along his neck, her body subtly grinding against him.

"Hmm...I’m not so sure about that..." she replied, looking away as she wrapped her arms around his neck, "Maybe if you make it worth my while…” she whispered into his ear, giving it a playful nibble.

June, now flushed and fidgeting, managed to ask, "How would I do that?"

"There's something you used to do for me that I... we love doing," Nakita replied, as she confidently placed her hands on his shoulders, giving them a gentle squeeze while biting her lip.

"What do I do?" he asked hesitantly, though his expression was clearly curious. Nakita's bitten lip gradually transformed into a smile after his question. She cast a quick glance over her shoulder at the door before turning back to June.

"Come on." she exclaimed with enthusiasm as she slid off his lap and stood on her own. She took his hands, helping him to his feet, and then walked towards the stairs, motioning for him to follow. June trailed behind her up to their bedroom, occasionally catching Nakita smirking as she looked back at him. Upon entering the bedroom, she pointed at the bed and instructed, "Sit here.”

June, still appearing perplexed, sat on the bed. Nakita inhaled deeply before loosening her belt. Upon hearing the jingle of her belt as she lowered her jeans, June glanced over. Walking over she settled beside June, before scooting back on the bed and laying back against the pillows. June continued to look around the room, still feeling confused, and let out a nervous chuckle.

Nakita, noticing his confusion, tapped the space in front of her invitingly. June moved further onto the bed as Nakita spread her legs out, and positioned him between them. "Take off my panties," Nakita suddenly instructed. June's head snapped up, a blush creeping onto his face along with a nervous grin.

"What?" June asked, trying to hold back a laugh, unsure if Nakita was being serious.

"You heard me. Take them off," Nakita repeated, her smirk still intact but her eyes narrowing slightly. June's gaze fell to her abdomen, and the sight of her dark purple lace underwear delicately hugging her hips stirred something deep within him. June leaned in closer but hesitated.

"Why do you want me to do it?" June asked, his hands hovering just above her.

Nakita shrugged nonchalantly, "It's more fun when you do it," she stated, lifting her sweater to reveal her navel. "Trust me, you'll like it," she added, tilting his head back down.

June swallowed hard before taking hold of her panties and gradually pulling them down, a mix of apprehension and excitement evident on his face. As he lowered them, Nakita lifted her hips slightly to allow her underwear to slip down easier. June observed as fine blonde hair peeked out from the fabric as it descended. He couldn't tear his gaze away as he held Nakita's legs up to remove the panties completely, and tossed them aside. Nakita covered her mouth, giggling as she watched June stare in amazement.

"I'm really sorry, June... I haven't had the opportunity to shave in a few days," Nakita admitted, a faint blush creeping onto her cheeks. "You usually don't mind that sort of thing." June stayed quiet, still unable to look away. "It seems like you still don't mind…”A mischievous grin appeared on Nakita's face as she leaned in closer, her fingers gently caressing his cheek before gliding past his ear to the top of his head, holding onto it firmly, before pushing his head down toward her waist.

June pulled his head away, his voice laced with concern as he asked, "What are you doing?" His eyes filled with worry.

"You need to come closer, дорогой (sweetheart)," she says with a gentle warmth in her voice, her hand slowly moving towards him, causing him to flinch slightly.

June shyly nods, allowing Nakita to take hold of his head once more and carefully position him right between her legs, and even though June turns his gaze away, he could still feel the warmth radiating from Nakita.

"This is kinda embarrassing, Kita..." June says

Nakita lets out a soft chuckle, "Yeah, it's... just try not to think about it too much.” Nakita lightly nudges June's head with her thigh.

"...what do I typically do when I'm here…?" June inquired timidly.

Nakita's free hand moved down to her vulva, and with two fingers, she opened herself up. June gasped softly as she did so. "Now... Stick out your tongue..." she instructed. June looked up at her with uncertainty, but Nakita simply returned a reassuring smile. He then averted his gaze again, slowly extending his tongue as directed. "Now gently lick right here..." Nakita said, indicating a spot with her middle finger. June leaned in cautiously, the tension palpable for Nakita; with each inch he moved closer, she whispered, "come on..." struggling to maintain her composure.

As his tongue finally made contact, she let out a sigh of relief, quickly covering her mouth as her breathing became more rapid and her grip on June tightened slightly. "Just like that..." she murmured, her voice muffled by her hand. June squinted as an unfamiliar taste overwhelmed his senses, trying his best to push through the experience. "Y-you can also... suck on it a bit..." Nakita gasped as he followed her suggestion, "no, not there... higher..." She guided him between breaths, attempting to direct June's head as she struggled to keep her composure. His tongue brushed against her clit before he began to suck, causing Nakita’s whole body to jolt, and as she tensed, she pulled on June's hair. June yelped in pain and instinctively pulled away from Nakita.

"Why did you stop!?" Nakita exclaimed angrily, raising her arms, her nostrils flaring and her eyebrows knitted together. June flinched at her shout and began to back away from between her legs. Nakita's eyes grew wide; she inhaled deeply and asked more calmly, "Why did you pull away from me?"

"It hurts when you pull on my hair...and doing this is..." June's voice faded away as he rubbed the spot in pain.

"It's what?" Nakita inquired, sounding offended.

"...are you certain this is our favorite ‘thing’ to do?" June questioned, his eyes filled with doubt.

Nakita scoffed, "Of course it is; you told me that yourself," she responded.

"...I don't remember that..." June murmured softly, his gaze dropping to the bed.

Noticing this, Nakita moved in closer to June. "Come on, give it another try..." she said gently, while wrapping her arms around him. "...I’ll try not to pull your hair anymore."

June let out a sigh before hesitantly agreeing. Nakita's smile returned as quickly as it disappeared. She shifted back to her position, guiding his head to the same spot as before. As he extended his tongue, Nakita emitted a soft moan and began to delicately run her fingers through June's hair. "There... that's not so bad, is it?" Nakita remarked absentmindedly, the words made June flinch. As he continued, he felt Nakita pulling his head closer as she arched her back, her moans growing more fervent with each movement.

"Flick your tongue too," she ordered, tightening her grip on a lock of his hair. June attempted to lift his head, but Nakita held it firmly in place, and soon he felt a wave of dread wash over him. He tried to pull away, but that only made Nakita tug on his hair even more forcefully. Any attempt to speak to her was in vain, as his words came out as mere moans.

"Hmm…keep doing that," Nakita said with excitement. She felt June place his hand on her thigh before glancing down. "Oh, you want to get closer...? Alright then." Nakita wrapped her leg around June's back, pulling him in even tighter. They both let out a moan together before Nakita seized June's head with both hands. In a low growl, she urged, "I'm close. Keep going," just before her head fell back against the pillow. June continued to lick, hoping she would loosen her hold.

"Right there! Don't stop!" Nakita shouts. With barely any air left, June starts to rapidly finger her as he stimulates her g spot, Nakita moaned loudly as he dis so. She begins to tremble, crying out in ecstasy. His eyes widen as he tries to pull away, but Nakita nails dug into his head as she reaches her climax. June feels his tongue being squeezed as Nakita presses her legs together, moaning softly. He taste the liquid flowing past his tongue and onto his lips. As Nakita takes deep breaths, she finally releases June's head. He immediately falls back, covering his mouth, still unaccustomed to the taste. He glances at Nakita, who is sprawled out and breathing heavily, a mischievous grin on her face. "I don't know..." she murmurs. June crawls toward her, concern etched on his face.

"What’s wrong, Kita?" June asked as he began to crawl toward her.

Nakita’s gaze moved from the wall to June, and in a swift motion, she pulled him down onto the bed, enveloping him in a warm bear hug as she nestled closely against him. June glanced around, puzzled, as Nakita pressed his head against her chest. "I don't know how you’re still so good at that..." she murmured softly before planting a kiss on him and gently caressing his head. June’s distraught look gradually disappeared as he lay quietly with Nakita, and soon they both drifted off into a peaceful sleep.

Early the following morning, June found himself waking up to Nakita laying on top of him, still wearing a grin. Not wanting to disturb her, he carefully rolled her off and quietly made his way to the bathroom to freshen up. After a quick shower, he approached the sink to brush his teeth, but noticed only one toothbrush in the holder. "Why is there only one?" June muttered to himself. He searched the cabinets and retrieved a new toothbrush to use. Once he finished in the bathroom and changed his clothes, June walked over to Nakita and sat beside her. "Hey…Kita," June whispered softly. Nakita mumbled in her sleep before slowly opening her eyes. "Hi…" June greeted her with a gentle wave.

Nakita grinned, "You typically wake me up with a kiss..." she remarked in a sleepy morning tone.

"Oh, sorry" June replied quickly, leaning in to give her a good morning kiss.

"So, what is it?" Nakita asked after their lips separate, propping herself up on her arm.

"Tian mentioned he'd be here around this time..." June said, glancing toward their bedroom window.

  "What for...?" Nakita yawned.

"He wanted to go swimming... remember...?" June asked, raising an eyebrow.

"...right," Nakita chuckled softly as she finally recalled.

"Can I have my phone, please...?" June requested,

Nakita sighed and lay back down, "Second drawer..." she mumbled.

June opened her drawer and saw a pile of mail along with some pill bottles next to his phone. He picked up the phone and slipped it into his pocket. "I'll be back soon, okay?"

"Mhmm," she mumbled as she started to drift back to sleep.

"...I love you, Nakita..." he murmured.

Nakita sprang up, looking at June with a mix of surprise and drowsiness. "W-what?"

"I'm sorry... I... I shouldn't—" June averted his gaze, stumbling over his words.

"No, no... June..." Nakita replied gently as she stood up. "I love you too... Боже мой!(my goodness!) I just didn't expect you to say it again so soon…

"It just feels right... feels familiar," he remarked, turning to look at her again.

"You have no idea how thrilled that makes me, June," she replied before kissing him again and wrapping her arms around him. They both heard a honk from outside. Glancing out, Nakita spotted Tian's car parked right by the gate. She rolled her eyes and squeezed June a little tighter for a moment. "It seems your brother is here... let me walk you to the door."

"Oh... sure!" June exclaimed joyfully as he approached the door. Nakita stretched as she trailed behind June, grabbing her robe before they both left their bedroom behind. After putting it on, Nakita went downstairs and to the front door and started unlocking it.

"I plan to make lunch later, so please don't linger out too late." Nakita said with determination as she released each lock.

"Ooh, I can't wait!" June exclaimed with genuine enthusiasm. Nakita glanced over and smiled at him before returning her attention to the multiple locks. As she finished unlocking the last one, June moved to leave, but Nakita blocked his path. "Huh?"

"Don't keep me waiting," she said firmly, locking her gaze with June's. Her intense stare sent a shiver down his spine. Nakita stepped closer, prompting June to take a half step back. She leaned in slowly before swiftly stealing a kiss and smiling at June. "And enjoy yourself.”

June's face turned a deep shade of red before he gave a nod. Nakita finally opened the door, allowing June to step outside. As she observed him leave, her gaze shifted to Tian's car, where the two exchanged fierce glares while June approached. Glancing back at Nakita, she playfully blew a kiss to June, aiming to provoke Tian even more. June beamed with joy, pretending to catch the kiss. The moment June got into the car, Tian swiftly backed out of the driveway, vanishing behind the trees. Nakita's smile faded instantly before she slammed the door shut.

"Thanks for picking me up, Tian." June said, his smile still beaming.

"Anytime, bro," Tian replied, switching on the radio. "Adams is on his way too; he said he would meet us there.”

“Oh okay…I like Adam, he's funny.” June says as he buckles his seat belt.

Tian chuckles softly, "yeah he definitely is." he remarks as they merge onto the main road. While driving, June gazes out the window at the scenery whizzing by. "Have you been able to remember anything else?"

"No…nothing yet." June replies with a hint of sadness,

"Hey, lighten up man, I'm sure more will come back to you…eventually." He says as he makes a turn. "Edith believes it would help if I ask about things like this…I’m not sure…what has Nakita been doing to assist you?"

"Uh…" June's voice wavers slightly, and he turns his gaze back to the window. "Uh she’s mostly just been showing me things…from our past"

"Oh…" Tian responded uncertainly. "Like what, huh…?"

"Oh you know…she showed me her favorite film…" June replied, tapping his chin as he tried to recall how the movie was pronounced.

"The one that only she and Anya can understand? I don’t know how you managed to sit through that." Tian said with a light laugh, rolling his eyes.

"...it was actually nice." June added quietly, his smile still present.

Tian casts a quick glance at June before turning his attention back to the road. "What else?"

"She shared the story of how we first met..." June replied.

"Oh really? What did she say?" Tian inquired, his curiosity piqued.

"She mentioned that we met at the hospital," June answered, a contemplative expression on his face.

  "Right, go on," Tian encouraged.

"She told me that I got hurt at work and it took some time for them to fix me up," June explained.

"Yeah, I remember that day…you cut your arm while trying to pull out a nail," Tian recalled, tapping his fingers rhythmically on the steering wheel as he waited for the light to change.

"She said that after I left, I returned later to invite her to dinner; I guess as a way to say thank you," June said, a smile spreading across his face as he reminisced.

Tian, however, didn't appear to be amused. "That... isn't what you told me, June."

"What?" June's head snapped up, looking at him in utter confusion. "What do you mean, Tian?"

"After your hospital visit, you called me to say you were okay. During that call, you mentioned you were going to get donuts for the staff because they were being nice and having a rough day. Then, when you returned to the work site the next day, you told me you thought the doctor who was assisting you was flirting with you," Tian explained, “After that day, you didn't mention it for a few weeks, and then suddenly... Nakita... became part of our lives," Tian said, his expression blank, but his tone carried a sense of gloom.

June's head turned to face forward as he went quiet. Tian mumbled “…we are here.”

"Wow…this place is enormous!" June exclaimed as they found a parking spot.

"Heh, you mentioned the same thing when we first got our membership," Tian replied, unbuckling his seat belt and unlocking the car. They stepped out and made their way across the parking lot, spotting Adam perched on the trunk of his car. Seeing him, Tian called out, and Adam jogged over to greet them.

"Hey June, it's great to see you!" Adam said with a smile.

June returned the smile and nodded as they headed towards the entrance. Adam began discussing the football match from the previous night, while Tian rolled his eyes at the mention of Adam's beloved team. "This guy," he remarked.

"Ignore him, June; he's just upset that our team outperforms his," Adam remarked with a confident, radiant smile.

"You wouldn't even put money on that," Tians replied, prompting laughter from both of them.

"Seriously, you know Anya would be furious if she found out I was betting on games," Adam said while holding the door open for June and Tian. As they entered, June was astonished by the number of people bustling around the vast complex. A few individuals waved at June as they walked past, and he responded with a puzzled wave in return. "Let's get signed in," Adam announced before setting off for the front desk with June trailing behind him. Taking in the surroundings June noticed the indoor planters beneath the skylight, also catching a glimpse of the second floor, where he spotted a few people leaning against the railings above him.

"Hey Solene," Adam greets, waving at the woman at the front desk who is busy folding towels.

She glances up and notices the group coming towards her, her excitement mirroring Adam's. "Hey Adam! Welcome back!" she exclaims quickly. "Hey Tian, just a heads up, the basketball courts are pretty much full."

"Nah, no basketball for me today; we're just here for the pool," Tian replies with a nod.

"Yeah, I heard it's huge," June chimed in.

Solene looks beyond Adam and Tian, spotting June with a smile. For a moment, she appears taken aback before her smile returns. "June?" she asks, and June looks around, puzzled. "Oh my gosh, it is you, it’s been a while! It’s so nice to see you again!"

"Um, thank you?" June responds, “Good…to see you again too…”

"Where's Nakita?" Solene inquired, her expression filled with concern as she scanned the area for her.

"Uh, she wasn't able to come this morning," Adam quickly replied. "But June was available, so..."

"Phew..." she sighed, "I just want you to know that we're all really glad to have you back. You boys have fun at the pool, alright?" she said while completing their sign-in.

"Sure thing," Tian responds. They waved goodbye as they made their way to the locker room.

"What was that all about?" June inquired, glancing back at Solene, who was still smiling at them as they made their way down the corridor.

"We're sort of friends with the staff here. She always seems really cheerful when she sees us," Tian explains, eyeing the towels on a nearby cart that was about to pass by.

"Does she know Nakita too?" June asked.

"Yeah... we all used to hit the gym together, but our schedules have changed so..." Adam replies, catching a towel that Tian tossed him.

"When was the last time we were here?" June questioned as he caught his towel.

"You and Naki? It's been a while," Adam says before they enter the men's locker room. After a quick search, they found the first available locker and started changing. Adam kept chatting about the game, with a few people passing by joining in the conversation. Once he took out his swim trunks, June began to undress. As he removed his shirt, both Tian and Adam noticed multiple scratches running along June's back, which he seemed completely unbothered by.

Adams' voice gradually trailed off as he shared a concerned glance with Tian. "Um, June... what’s happened to your back?" Tian asked, his voice tinged with worry.

June turned around, looking confused. "My back?" He looked over his shoulder, clearly bewildered. "What are you talking about?"

"Mate, your whole back is covered in scratches," Adam pointed out, just as Tian took a picture of it. He then showed the image to June, whose eyes widened in disbelief at the sight. "You didn’t even know this was there?"

"No. Not at all..." June responded, his gaze fixed on the phone, a look of distress crossing his face.

"You have no idea how this occurred?" Tian inquired, his hand trembling slightly as he held the phone.

"No..." June replied, scratching his head and looking away.

"Perhaps his back got all scratched up when that stuff fell on him," Adam suggested while finishing changing his clothes.

"Yeah... maybe..." Tian responded, his eyes fixed on the photo with a glare.

"Tian?" June called out, still sounding anxious.

"Hmm? It's probably nothing to be concerned about right now... Let's hurry to the pool," Tian said in a reassuring tone, though he barely looked up from the phone.

"Right," June replied, his voice steady as he finished changing and walk towards the doors next to Adam. Meanwhile, Tian took one last look at the photo, his fingers tightening around his phone for a brief moment before he carefully placed it in the locker and locked it securely. As he followed behind June and Adam towards the pool, he did his best to hide his growing irritation.

Hours later, Nakita had just finished preparing their meal. She paced anxiously, glancing at her phone from time to time. "What’s taking them so long..." she murmured as she turned to head back to the kitchen. Holding her phone, her thumb hovered over June's name in her call history.

She sighed, "What am I doing... This is what pushed him away last time. He’s okay... he must be okay. He’s with Tian..." She rolled her eyes as that thought crossed her mind. "What could he possibly be telling him about me..." Just then, a knock at the door interrupted her. She approached the door and peered through the peephole. A smile spread across her face when she saw June standing there.

She undid the locks as fast as she could before opening the door, and embraced him in a warm hug, joyfully welcoming him back. Looking past him, she noticed Tian on the first step, his expression twisted in frustration, hands stuffed in his pockets, his eyes locked on Nakita. Releasing June, she turned to him, saying, "Go have a seat. I’ll be in shortly." June nodded before waving goodbye to Tian and walking inside.

"What is it, Tian?" Nakita asked, her arms crossed tightly over her chest, clearly bracing herself for a confrontation.

"I'm only going to ask this once, Naki. Did you do something to June?" Tian pressed, his voice firm and serious.

"Be more specific," Nakita replied, her tone completely flat

Tian took a step closer, his expression hardening. "Did you sleep with him?" he demanded, a look of disgust beginning to creep onto his face as he awaited her response.

Nakita let out a scoff, her frustration boiling over as she slammed the door shut behind her. She marched up to Tian, her anger palpable. "I'm going to try to ignore how completely inappropriate that question was," she said, her voice now laced with irritation. "Why on earth would you even think to ask me something like that?"

Tian pulls out his phone and displays a photo of June's back to her. For a brief moment, Nakita's eyes widen before she regains her composure. "So what? He has scratches on his back, in case you forgot, scaffolding fell on him." She retorts

"We both know those marks didn't come from that..." Tian countered, shaking his head in disbelief

"I don't like what you're implying, Tian... or your tone," she says, stepping closer as they glare at each other.

"I don't like that you're deceiving my brother, or how you've been acting around him... or even how you're dressed..." Tian states, gesturing towards her robe.

Nakita lifts her robe to reveal she's in pajamas, "What's wrong with how I'm dressed!? Am I not allowed to wear pajamas in my own home!? I can't hug June when he returns?" Before Tian can reply, Nakita continues, "First of all, what I do with MY husband is MY business. Secondly...He hardly remembers our marriage, let alone that we share a room... So to answer your question, no, I didn't 'do' anything to him. Do you really think so little of me, Tian?”

After a brief, uncomfortable pause, Tian finally responds, "...yes."

Nakita let out an exasperated sigh through her nose, "Well, that's unfortunate... Because as long as he's my husband, you'll just have to deal with it." Tian appears to want to speak but holds back. "What?" she shouted.

"Nothing. This better be the last time I have to mention it." Tian says as he turns around to head back to his car.

"God, I really hope so..." Nakita replied as she turned away and started to head back inside. "Say hi to Edith for me."

"Whatever," Tian muttered before slamming his car door.

After stepping inside, she closed the door and leaned her head against it, releasing a heavy sigh. "Why can't Tian just leave me alone and let me be happy..." Nakita muttered as she secured all the locks again.

"What were you two talking about?" June asked gently.

Nakita shouted in surprise, turning around to find June standing just a foot away. June instinctively took a step back, concern etched on his face.

"June...you caught me off guard..." Nakita gasped, her breaths quickening.

"I'm sorry? You and Tian were out there for quite some time. I just wanted to check if everything was alright," June said, taking another hesitant step back.

"Everything is fine, дорогой (dear)," she said, moving closer to June and gently rubbing his arms. "You know how your brother can be sometimes." She added with a playful smile. "Now...let's go eat. I prepared lunch for us." June smiles briefly as Nakita guides him toward the kitchen, casting one last glance at the door.
