A young bard named Viernes grew tired of the mundane life as a travelling performer. Without anything left for him in his hometown of Grandeus, he embarks on a journey to find what he calls "The Somber Melody" — a melody that apparently only he could hear. On his personal quest he meets various comrades who travel with him with their own goals in mind, traversing the dangerous world of Creda.
