He stared at the sizzling meat, with his hand trembling from a single sniff of the aroma spreading throughout the room as he struggled to contain his gluttony.
With a behavior so unmannerly especially for a person like him, weird looks were expected and yet all of them in the room displayed the same demeanor as Pil Loach while looking at the plates in front of them with zero exceptions.
“Ai ai give a praise to the chef aye?” A voice spoke out from the circle of people surrounding the table.
“This might be the best banquet I've attended” Another person spoke up brightly from the far side of the rounded table before immediately digging into the food without any notice.
“Well, of course it would be great.” Grinning at the sight of his guests enjoying the food, he followed up.
“It was made by an Overlapped chef!” He exclaimed with joy, feeling proud of hiring the chef even when their resume looked bland.
“Anyways I thank all of you in my banquet for helping me and as a form of thanks each and every person that is currently in the room will receive a premium wine bottle that came from Liuonsu!”
He raised his hands trying to gain everyone’s favor.
As soon as these words bounced inside the ears of everyone, they expressed astonishedness in unique ways.
One darted their eyes to him while one completely turned their head. Another snapped their name in response while one didn’t show a slightest reaction other than the breathing getting heavier.
He grinned brighter than before watching these reactions unfold before him, and without waiting any longer he ordered them to start digging into the food.
Pil stared again at the plate, carrying a perfectly roasted chicken with aroma incredibly strong, one could assume they were in the kitchen as if watching the chef cook.
He reached for the utensils beside the plate, sliced the meat in pieces he could chew before bringing it closer to his face.
…
Pil spine exploded into pain as shards of wooden parts inched deeper into the fragile skin.
“?!” Quickly slamming himself behind the table in an instant, his eyes darted to the chair he previously sat as the people scrammed to scatter into covers.
Smokes slowly rose before eventually blocking his view of the doorway, with the shadow of three people faintly revealing themselves in the midst of the spreading gas.
The grunts of people all around him barely reached inside his ears and the sound of the floor tiles creaking tighten his face. Faced with quite the unexpected situation, he squeezed his fist as he turned to the floor.
The sensation of an eternal winter crawled from his heart, slowly spreading as it shattered into his Versile pathways as it condensed into the dense lines of his skull.
Grunts
He grunted yet the sound disappeared in his mouth.
“Ughhhh.”
From the other side of the room, a familiar grunt made its way into their ears before a force cut through the air, crashing down on the sound that echoed. Each piece that made up a tile no longer.

Taking the opportunity of their leg being lodged in the now spiky floor, he dashed towards the heavy smoke. The knife near his feet materialised into existence with a flash of light before swiftly entering a stabbing motion, lunging at the shadow that remained in the back.
…
White lights blinded his eyes as his brain smashed against the back of the skull. Pain pierced his spine like needles, the wall suffering from crossfire as his back chipped away the materials.
“Ughhhh.” A very real grunt left his breath.

A being majestic stood tall in the black void that extended towards a horizon that didn't exist, judging the motions that carried my breathing.
The golden Justice scale stared down at me, with both of its hands not moving a single inch from its position. Yet, the insignificance clouding my mind rapidly grew the longer it remained in my view.
“Mo guins lo Juost, nay tom eian lon bels tot woin bin!” The mumbles in words I do not wish to understand shook my eyes. A man in a well dressed black suit stood at the opposite end of the towering justice scale, closing his eyes before mumbling more words.
The Versation surrounding the empty void condensed into multiple thin lines before circling him.
It circled and circled before slamming itself into his body as his body shook in response. The colorless of the lines became no longer, extending into all directions as if reaching for a place out of this world.
The scale tilted to the left as I stared blankly at him, my eyes shaken at the sight before the void slowly ate my feet, burrowing it deeper into the ground of nothingness.
My heart felt heavier as the scale tilted more, my legs tiring by the second. My conscience slowly faded into oblivion before a burning sensation crawled through my flesh.
The sensation itself wasn't a bad deal and despite this, every nerve screamed at me to get rid of the fire.
I hurriedly examined the surroundings only to find more nothing that spread across all directions.
‘Ugh.’
Losing the cognitive ability to think properly was devastating for a person like me and with this rate it would be inevitable. Judging from my numbness along with a few factors, I only have 10 minutes before I pass out completely, effectively losing my life.
I took a look at the person opposite of me, and as I expected he was still mumbling nonsense I couldn't understand. Whatever it was, it was certain that these words were granting him an advantage.
!
I extended my hand to my pocket before feeling a metallic object meet my touch.
Without hesitation, I swiftly pulled out the firearm before snapping my fingers as much as the magazine allowed.
His eyes widened as he ceased the mumbling.
“What are you doing?!”
Golden sparkles replaced the three bullets out of the nozzle as the golden colors of the justice shined a flash of light.
“You!”
The wind carrying whispers of it
He gritted his teeth before darting his eyes towards a distant place, his eyes shaking rapidly as the force behind his breath grew louder.
Before the lights of realization dawned upon my eyes, a shadowy hand escaped from the horizon of the void, bolting towards both of us as it dragged the void behind it.
The scale didn’t exist anymore, he didn’t exist anymore as everything left my view. All there was a hand and only the hand.
From the feet to the head, senses didn’t give any information nor did it know it was inside my body anymore.
…
Energy descended from above, flickering in and out of existence as it clustered into a black ball. Versation rushed to the cluster of energy, drying the surroundings of it.
Among many things I couldn’t do, my eyes were not one of them.
They barely managed to look up at the cluster, the ball of energy consuming everything in its path slowly dropped down from the sky as thin lines burst out of it before disappearing.
And without any warning, the cluster crashed onto the right side of the scale, tilting it heavily to the right. In the midst of this, the giant hand was inches away from our face, the energy surrounding both objects clashed against each other.
30 inch, 15 inch, 5 inch, 3 inch…growing closer and closer, it showed no sign of stopping and yet…
The golden light returned to their original form, the previously gone golden objects surrounding the scale reappeared yet again with the void disappearing into oblivion. The familiar wall screamed the room I was in with relief as my eyes reflected blinding orange lights.
My eyelids instinctively tightened as I tried to make out the blinding light that stood in front of me, the moving lights of the object in front of me followed a person’s movement as if acting like a person.
‘?!’
I had judged it wrongly, it wasn’t acting like a person’s movement, it indeed was a person. More specifically, the person below the flames slammed against multiple objects as they shrieked in pain.
And the flame…was slowly spreading. Spreading to each and every Versation in the air, sticking to the person inside the flame as it attempted to leap towards me.
…I doubted the flame was ordinary.
