Alexandra hummed as Kenny spewed out wood from his biomass storage, logs layered upon each other in accordance with ancient principles. A dozen Harvester Spikes lay organized by his feet. Alexandra had reached the maximum amount of Qi strings she was able to make and maintain in a combat-effective manner. Her Qi Strings were connected to a few Harvester Spikes and her sword that evicerated any Star Spawn that dared to approach them.
Surrounding them were two fences made of black chitin strong enough not to topple over from the charges of the Hens and Curs.
“Okay, we made a good harvesting tool,” Kenny said as he made five more Harvester Spikes. “Now for a collection point, maybe a backpack or wheelbarrow?”
Alexandra rubbed her chin as her left hand reached into her satchel and popped a hyperdense packet of sugar that dared to be called a sweet. She shivered as the treat melted in her mouth and entered her bloodstream.
Alexandra felt like her heart briefly tried to escape her chest before her Qi consumed the sugar and reinforced homeostasis.
“Ah, I wish I had a Golden Core to offload my exhaustion into my Dantian,” Alexandra muttered as she watched Kenny head disappear into Threads and reformed, visibly refreshed. “I think that it would be simpler to make additional brain lobes and swap between them, like I believe Dolphins do.”
Kenny raised his right index finger, “And where would I find a sample of Dolphins that I could model from?”
Alexandra shrugged, “I know that there are breeds that live in rivers and a few Cultivation-capable breeds that swim through the air.”
Kenny hummed as he lowered his finger. “Perhaps the knowledge that it's possible is enough for my Threads to do the work for me?”
Kenny’s back shivered as he pulled the schematics of his brain lobes, removed his intestines, made several boxes of the strongest bone and chitin he could make, and filled them with his brain matter. Small holes in the boxes allowed the brains to connect to his Central Nervous System. Then Kenny realized that his sub-brains weren’t getting enough blood, so he converted his kidneys into additional hearts, which required their own protective shells.
Kenny spent the next few minutes steadily backing himself into a corner labeled [Adding additional vital organs and their protections makes you inflexible, you idiot.]
“Well, I can do it,” Kenny said, breaking the silence. “It just would require me to abandon my human form, abandon the comfort of my human form by turning off the need for rest, or make me stationary, save for tendrils or Qi manipulation.”
Kenny shivered as his legs had dissolved to make a bone white pedestal from the side effects of Kenny’s experiments, having storage for his extra brains. Kenny looked down at his legs, and the pedestal rippled with Threads as it lengthened into a throne, then a palaquin that could be carried. The rods that connected to the throne’s four corners grew wheels made of bone, and a large seven-eyed white wolf grew between the two frontal rods; a brown leather harness rose from the wolf’s fur.

“Oi.” Alexandra hopped up onto the throne’s right armrest. “Make this a proper carriage so I don’t have to sit on your human self’s lap.”
Kenny turned to her with half-lidded eyes. “Any seat I make with this will just be my lap anyway.”
Kenny, despite his gripes, did extend the throne sideways so that she could sit down on a seat. From the top of the thrones spread a roof and walls that isolated them from the Star Spawn outside. Thin lenses, modeled after his eyes, filled the windows, heavily reinforced with Qi to prevent them from breaking. Dense branches of flesh grew in the few air vents to catch any poisons and slowly absorb the bacteria in the air. A table rose in front of them, which allowed Alexandra to place her crystal ball down before the unused Harvester Spikes.
Tendrils appeared on the outside of the carriage, and a small control panel grew from the table to allow her to control them.
“Say, how much Qi can you fit into this prototype tank?” Alexandra asked. “I know that you can split your Qi into different bodies, being the basics of Communal Cultivation and all that.”
Kenny hummed as he focused on his Qi reserves, and sputtered as his Qi reserves, instead of being a single rose, now resembled a large oak tree that could have supported dozens of his human body.
Or the weaponization of his current body.
He formed a cannon turret made from a neck and mouth on his roof, and he created several copies of his Dantian on the roof, each connected to his central Dantian, which was located in his throne, but each capable of generating and storing Qi separately or in combination. Several humans’ worth of Meiridians were spun between the Dantians and connected to the cannon, easily capable of dumping the entirety of Qi this body was able to handle into one attack.
Kenny altered the head to move away from humanity and more toward an overly large canine skull as he transfigured the teeth into what he thought was better at conducting Qi. Where the ears would be were two long horns filled with hexagonal cells that were filled with air and miniature models of the Curs’ flame sacks.
Ready to either enhance a single attack or provide a rapid-fire alternative to the [Main Cannon Shot] being generated in the roof.
“Say, is there a way to solidify Qi?” Kenny asked, tempted to increase his Qi storage capacity artificially. “I am tempted to make some kind of weapon minions that would be able to absorb enemy Qi and then use it for ranged attacks. So I would make it into a pistol that basically shoots lasers. But I am prototyping the laser on my roof.”
Alexandra nodded, “It’s straightforward. All you have to do is take your Qi and compress it down until it makes a Qi Stone, which sometimes forms via geological processes, or you can just melt a Qi-laced object into a stone. Considering that basically everything has a tiny bit of Qi, this is how Cultivation-enhanced recycling works. So your Qi Pistol can have swappable magazines.”
“Though you will have to learn some more effective spells if you want to be energy efficient. My Sect definitely has some.” Alexandra said as she tapped her chin. “If you don’t mind the biomass and soul loss, you can make a flight-capable bird-type monster with a few Qi stones implanted into it to make a Qi bomb. Also, I would recommend a rifle with a bayonet rather than a pistol for long-range combat.”
Kenny turned to her, “Yeah, like making a new breed of monster won’t be confusing at all for our allies.”
Alexandra blushed, “Fair.”
“Also, how would I make sure the birds would detonate only in deep hordes? Away from collateral damage?” Kenny raised his right eyebrow.
To which Alexandra simply waved at the control setup before her, “Make those bombers only remotely controlled from a tower or some other building that you turn yourself into. Maybe a backpack deal for squad commanders.”
Kenny hummed as the two of them saw the dawn.
“Let’s ask the mayor and Serenity before we commit to anything,” Kenny said.
