Ch14 The First Hive p1

The Wolf had pulled up to the town hall and was greeted by Serenity and the Mayoress along with their staff.

“Good news,” Kenny said through the wolf as Alexandra left the carriage.

Kenny then dissolved everything into a pile of rifles and tallow candles cut into cylinders and cubes, the wicks were made from bundled leaves. Kenny’s left arm then spilled onto the ground and formed another instance of the wolf with a longer tail that was split down the middle. The wolf helped the staff to collect the various rifles and candles as Kenny talked to Serenity.

“I can now make minions, this includes remote-controlled ones like this wolf or even a suicide bomber bird.” Kenny said. “The bayonet on these rifles will eat any corpse that its stabbed into and convert it into QI Stones or tallow candles. The magazines can be swapped and use Qi Stones to shoot the basic Qi Pulse.”

Serenity nodded as Alexandra walked up beside Kenny.

“Are you going to make a building nearby to mass production of these items?” Serenity asked.

Kenny nodded and poked towards his farm, “About halfway there I will make a new pyramid whose upper floors will be allocated for habitation. Also I had underestimated the number of souls my Harvester Spikes can get before they need to be emptied, it’s two per spike and not one.”

Serenity hummed and beckoned them inside to hash out the details.

Barely an hour later Kenny and Alexandra were at the designated point. First thing first was the big square shaped meat bowl with a few tentacles on the inside that would keep anything tossed in there from escaping.

Then the interior filled with stomach acid and a few acid-resistant fish to aid in digestion of more durable foods. On the outside were slots that were made into each side, which would deposit the biomass into a dense cube that would be one Biomass Point each. This was next to a Qi Stone dispenser and a large container which would be filled with boneless meat.

“I don’t think that is how fish swim.” Alexandra said after enhancing her eyes.

You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author.

Indeed the fish were very much spinning around their sides in a constant aileron roll.

“They still work don’t they?” Kenny said. “I made them to dismantle armored targets which allowed me to make this digestion pit also work for recycling the now dead cars and stuff.”

Alexandra hummed as she nodded. “Alright, I’ll take the opportunity to funnel resources into the pit.”

Alexandra took the opportunity to change her behavior from slicing her enemies into pieces to making her sword skewer the Star Spawn. She caught a Hatchet Hen in just a few seconds later and then forced the creature into the acidic pool as a tentacle obediently took the creature from the sword.

“So what is next?” Alexandra asked. “You’ve got the center piece of the ground floor, but nothing to bring it material.”

He nodded and raised his hand to his side as he pumped biomass into his forearm as it fell off to make a creature that had grown to reach his knees. It used a black panther as its base, with a pair of spike-tipped tendrils that grew from its shoulders as the four legs grew from its torso. A patch of grass grew on its back, just enough to feed the creature.

The creature shook as it got used to having a body gain after being trapped with all the other Star Spawn that Kenny had consumed, before it bounded off in search of one of its former allies to collect.

“That one took five of hte Biomass Points to create.” Kenny said. “Hopefully I gave it enough instincts to defend itself to protect my investment.”

With that said Kenny turned to his ameteaur architecture and spewed out a lot of soft beige chitin cut into square floor tiles, as his arms sprouted tendrils to place them around the Digestion Pit. he used different colored lines on the top of the tiles to form a pseudo map. Red went right , just a few yards and Kenny made a sign that read “Command Center” to remind himself when he was finished building the outline of the compound.

Next was blue, that one went to the left and ended in the armory/motor pool/beast area, or at least it would once it was built. Green went forward and Kenny instantly pumped out a few poles of chitin to suggest the placement of a gatehouse. Yellow went backwards and was to be the living courters.

“Ah, I thought the Pit would be inside of a building.” Alexandra muttered as she and the Harvester Beast deposited their loads in to the pit. “It does make more sense this way, being the focal point of a compound’s courtyard.”

“Its best to plan for the future when I figure out how to make my minions fly.” Kenny nodded as he sent more biomass ot the ends of his tendrils to start work on the perimeter fence.blant”antly biological missiles.

“For those suicide birds,” Alexandra said. “Why make them bird shaped in the first place? Just be honest about them and make them all tube shaped biological missiles?”

“Eh, I see your point.” Kenny said as the perimeter fence completed. “But I’ll save that design for when I can add decent range to them. To fully serve as replacements for them.”
