Okay so I have a few updates. I’m going to dive right in and try and break them up into small bites.
Anything But Squished - Reception
To be honest, I still have zero idea what to think about book one. I do have a few reviews and comments from you all now. Still not sure what 'I greatly enjoyed it', or 'This was a fun read!', actually means. Does that mean like the book was . . . just okay? Or . . .
As you can tell, I still have a ton of authors doubt around the book, and for good reason. In my opinion, it really is, just okay, and it’s okay that it’s just okay. It was my first book, and while I cringe at a lot of parts of it, it’s probably due to over reading/editing the first few chapters.
Still, us authors can get in our heads about our work. My stats on Royal Road say I have a 340+ followers and 80+ favorites. If that is you, I’d love to hear from you. What did you like? What was dumb? Talk to me.

Anything But Squished - Audio Book
I am working with Maximillian Breed on an audio version of the book. We are in the early stages still, but I'm hoping it will be available by sometime in May at the latest. It’s been really fun watching the story come to life through his voice, which I think is fantastic for Sam, and the whole cast. He is going above and beyond and including some minor sound effects as well as Voice Acting with gasps, sighs, laughs, and all that. Get ready for a lot of Mie screams, and Sam heavily exhaling.
They're Dying, Pass the Popcorn - Book 2
Finding time to write with work and little kids has been challenging, but I'm making time here and there, and so far, book two, has been an absolute blast!
My pre-writing / thinking is pretty much wrapped up, and I will say I do have the broader outline nailed down, but am working through the gritty details of making it all come to life. And since I lean more panster than plantster, I'm still open to changes as I go.
I’d say I'm around 20% complete with it and am hopeful I will be posting consistently come April 1st. I've posted on Patreon the Prologue, Chapter 1, and Chapter 2 already. You can find the link to that through the donate button on this page, if you are interested. Zero pressure there at all.
I’ll also say that I have some fun content cooking for my creative process that I’ll be posting along with my chapters for B2. They may or may not be links to old live streams.
Oh, and the working title for B2 as you saw is: They're Dying, Pass the Popcorn
